This picture makes me wonder where this scene takes place and why it's being recorded.

If it's taking place in the Jedi Temple after the masacre, then it makes sense it's on the security tapes their. If this is the case, then I never knew Palpatine came to the temple after the masacre. I don't think that's the case though.

We've heard all along that this scene is from Palp's office. If that's the case and this ISN'T how the Jedi figure out who Sidious is, then why and how did the Jedi get a copy of this transmission from Palp's office? Unless this is part of Palp's plan or did one of the "posse" bring a camera with them during the arrest?

I believe obiwan just killed grievous. Obi will see griev communicate with palps so the ability to do so is there after grievous is dead. but it doesn't look like utapau, maybe sidious come to the temple after anakin kills everyone there?

Wonder what the chances are that Palpatine calls Anakin "Lord Vader" in the hologram, would explain one of the older, and I always thought pointless, debates on how Obi knows who Vader is.

I've always hoped he would be called Vader before the suit, I've tried following most of the spoilers but may have missed one if this has already been adressed, that was just my first thought when I saw the pic.

Yeah, he's christened Vader well before the suit.

The real question is, does obiwan ever see the suit before they meet again at last on the death star. Though I dont think it really matters since Vadar can sense Obiwan or Luke on the deathstar, most likely Obiwan can sense anikan through the suite.

But Back to the topic at hand..........
IMO after the mace fight or after the temple raid is when he will be officially named as vadar, definintly before the suite.

This is not to say there isn't still conflict in him during his battle with obiwan, but I always figuered that at some point, at least during the final duel anikan would make is final transformation (mentally) and at some point Obiwan would refer to him as anikan and he would give the "that name no longer has any meaning to me" line.... maybe followed by somthing like "I am lord Vadar, master of all the jedi" at which point obiwan puts him in his place. :-) "And you will learn you place young one."

As for Lea knowing vadar, Im sure vadar at some point stops by the senate to give his montly report. Maybe one time Lea was chillin at a bar on coresaunt and Vadar tried to pick her up... thats probably what she was refering to in Episode IV :0) "Darth Vadar, Only you could be so bold"

Very true. So it is likely that people would know Vader if they saw him, even if they hadn't spotted him in person with the helmet and mask on. Everybody knew what Hitler looked like without having had dinner with him...

Ewan's expression really captures what ObiWan's feeling right now. Betrayal, Sadness. A lot of people say Ian will be the star of the movie but right now I am thinking Ewan. No wonder ObiWan goes Apeshit on Anakin.
