Many questions are now answered.

1) Palpatine changes into Sidious the first time he uses Sith Lightning.

2) In the Senate, Palpatine uses the attack on himself by the Jedi as an excuse for his appearence.

3) The Jedi die in the following order: Saesee, Agen, Kit, Mace.

EDIT: About the dead Jedi:

Quote:
The first two are dead in seconds. Kit has the coolest death knoll, imo.

EDIT: About Palpatine:

Quote:
try something along the lines of: "Look at what those Jedi murderers did to me with their evil sorcery!'

The Senate goes beserk.

EDIT: More about Palpatine:

Quote:
The Senate will have no trouble believing him. He has video evidence.

EDIT: A poster asked:

Quote:
there was a quote where, Palpy says....

"Darth Plagieus was my master.....(his face comes out of the shadow and suddenly he is an old decrepid man) Before I killed him"

Motee can you explain this?

Quote:
Anakin almost kills Sidious - TWICE. Sidious says that line to Anakin the first time.

EDIT: About Mace:

Quote:
Anakin plays very little role in the Mace scene - bit he witnesses everything after Kit's Death.

EDIT: Tern on his source:

I now have 1 complete source. From the end of Utapau - Mace's death.

EDIT: More on Mace:

Quote:
Mace's confrontation was set up by Sidious.

Sequence order:

Utapau, Anakin Vs. Sidious, Kashyyyk, Temple, Mace Vs. Sidious, Temple Massacre.

EDIT: Anakin quote:

"He can save Padme!" - Anakin.

Palpatine uses the attack on himself by the Jedi as an excuse for his appearence.

The Senate believes that the Jedi made him age rapidly and turned his eyes yellow?

Man, they are dumb. ;)

Well look at Yushchenko.

He didn't blame it on mystical samurai. ;)

Even if Sidious looks completely different, George could always say Sidious is using the Force to help deceive people, I suppose.

Spaceships travelling through Hyperspace, sound in space, humanoid aliens, a mystical energy-field.

Somehow, "Jedi using sorcery" is a poor in-universe explanation?

There's been no set up in the PT about how the populace views the Jedi and their abilities. Since George knew this was coming, it's a little odd he didn't at least have one line about the Jedi being distrusted. It's a bit out of left field, but believable.

Well, this reveals something to me.

Palpatine has three different robe variations in the movie. The classic black, which he wears at the end of the movie, the "hoodie" version he wears in his fight with Yoda (and he wears in that picture with Anakin standing back to back), and then a red variant:

3817-sidious.jpg

This version of the robe was also on the front of one of the comic book covers for the movie.

This was curious because Palpatine looks pre-Sidious, but he has a lightsaber. So at first I assumed this was what he wore in the fight with Mace and Posse... except he wears that vest outfit, as seen in the recent Antechamber pics.

So, the most obvious conclusion is... Palpatine wears this robe in his apparent fight with Anakin.

Is it possible that Anakin comes in while Sidious is having a certain conversation with Grievous, and this is where the beans are spilled? This would also confirm a long obscure spoiler of Obi-Wan seeing Anakin appear in the same hologram Sidious was in, which he sees while Grievous is talking to the Sith Master.

I think that figure is meant to represent Palps during the Mace scene since the head flips around to show his Sidious face. In case you didn't see those other pics they're here:

Now what's this about sterilization?

hmmm....

"Don't try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, Lord Vader. "

I think it's very alluded to that the Jedi are not trusted or welcome in the OT. Just look at Obi-Wan's reception at the cantina in ANH.

it seemed the public feared and respected jedi, even anakin on an outer rim planet knew qui gon was a jedi and said he always wanted to be one. And in the bar everyone seems satisfied and a little intimidated when anakin says "go back to your drinks jedi buisness. " which was a lame ass line!

I think it should be assumed that the jedi were viewed by the public at large the same as the shaolin monks were, some what feared but laughed at as well for their lack of a personal life.

Ladies and Gentlemen of MF.com,

I hate to do this, as I've ejoyed your company and thoughtful analysis FULLY, but I feel that I must now "abandon" this site to allow myself the ability to enjoy some of the small surprises that are going to be in the films that have yet to be spoiled. With today's releases of the "Yoda's Discussion with The Force/Qui-Gonn's Spirit" and the release of the spoilers on this thread, I think I can safely say that Episode III is going to blow people's eyes, and more importantly, their minds away.

I had SUCH doubts. Lucas should be grateful to the individuals who've contributed the spoilers to sites such as this, for it's going to be die hard fans such as us that are going to be doing our utmost to get others into the theatres, plop down their hard earned cash, and enjoy his endeavors. Of course we're enthusiastic because Lucas is creating a most enticing chapter of the SW films, one that is so good that it actually and significantly elevates the perceptions of Ep. I and II, and restores an appreciable "sense of wonder" for Ep. IV-VI. I have to give credit where credit is due, and Lucas is "The Man" behind what we're so passionately writing about.

Trust me when I say that until I visited this site, I was quite dour about seeing the movie at all. Now I'll be skipping my way into my seat, and dragging my wife and friends with me the entire way.

I've participated in many forums, but MF's has been consistently high in regards to the thoughfulness of its participants, deeply discussing aspects of Life that most others rarely, if ever, simply reflect upon. These same people would probably laugh if they knew that the inspiration for many of these remarkable conversations were coming from the Star Wars films. Well, too bad for them, as my life is all the richer for it.

My period of time here as a forums participant has been a brief but rewarding/enriching one.

I'll be back after I've seen the film to drink in all that I've missed between now and then. It's going to be very hard for me to stay away from this site, thanks to you!

Thank you for all of your thoughtful contributions!

YOURS!

Kyle

:)

We'll save a spot for ya...

('Cause we know you'll be back in a couple of weeks. ;))

I love the idea of Anakin v.s. Sidious. However, where does that leave the clue Obi-Wan gets from Grievous? I've never heard that discrepancy pieced together. Only possibilities I can figure is that maybe Anakin doesn't spill the beans right away, or that Obi-Wan's clue leads Anakin to "discovering" that Palps is a Sith.

But he doesn't wear that costume in the Mace scene, he wears that "vest" costume.

Of course, that's a fair point, he would have to change his appearance in front of Anakin if this figure represents his fight with him. And no one's mentioned that.

So who knows.

Re:Sterilisation.

Its been said before that after Luke n Leia are born, no more force users will be born. Is this Palpatines plan? To ensure that there are no others born to remove him from power? Does the presence of Jedi in the force bring about other Force-user children? Is this how Qui-Gon has a hand in Lukes birth? Or is it that Yoda and Obi-Wan are still around too?

I think that was one of Josh Griffin´s little "scoops", which people laughed at.

TPM:

At least some fear them like they´re supernatural monsters.

Fear of their fighting abilities, yes. But nothing about any type of "magical wizard" powers (like aging someone rapidly). It's just one of those things Lucas didn't have time for, since it's a movie, which is fine. And it could be said that Palpatine's excuse itself serves as exposition of this concept to the audience. Does the AOTC or TPM novel refer to this at all?

They have a video of them trying to kill him

Apparently an edited video, since the Jedi don't actually age Palpatine.

You're not going to see that in the video and don't need to - Jedi attack Palpatine. Palpatine grows weird. Simple as that. It would be easy to throw blame to the Jedi for that.

I'd like to read the dialogue for the scene where he tells the Senate.

Is it going to be a hologram display?

I'm confused as to when/where/why Anakin challenges Sidious. Is Anakin not aware Sidious is Palpatine? This needs to be elaborated on in more detail.

Maybe Anakin will fight Sidious as a Jedi defending himself & others. Then Sidious will tell him the Pageuis story is true & that he will teach it to him if vows to serve Sidious.

As I recall isnt that in a spoiler report? As has been said in the story after the trick is taught the student kills the master. So Anakin thinks he has learned this trick or feels that he has been duped by Sidious so he fights him again? He finds that he cannot beat him so he realizes that he is now commited to serving the Emperor.

Isnt that how Palpatine refers to Vader in the OT? He refers to him as his servant.

Vader to me especially in ESB is like Trump, every time you see him he's saying "You're fired!" Only with Vader you dont just lose that corner office but your life too.

I can't imagine that Anakin v.s. Sidious is going to be some balls-to-the-wall smashup. They may draw sabers, but it's a mind game. Most likely it's that tricky scene Pablo described in a Set Diary where the camera circles two people in Palp's office.

Its probably going to mirror Sidious goading Luke into attacking him in ROTJ, in terms of Sidious trying to get the apprentice to use his anger.

So how does Palpatine explain the deaths of 4 Jedi? I'm guessing that he claims that his "bodyguard", Anakin, killed them in self-defense, but you would think that some senators might question how 1 young Jedi dispatched with 4 experienced Jedi Masters. Or does Palpatine make some comment about the brave defense put up by his Imperial Guards?

For the senators, or public at large, will it really matter what happened to the four jedi? Sideous will have spun the jedi in such a negative light that no one will second guess what he's saying, let alone his motives. Just like he did with the military creation act & being granted emergency powers. It really won't matter - no one will question him.
