Barc Speeders

The Clones in Episode III ride Barcspeeders. They look like the clone troopers' preferred mode of transport -- sort of a connection to the RoJ speederbike.

Obiwan's Komodo Dragon Rider called a "Barg"

Obi-Wan rides on a saddled dinosaur called a Barg. He chases Grievous walking vehicle in this sequence. The concept art on the front of the Insider is early but is this creature.

A dragonfly-type creature appears in Episode III.

Episode III CloneFighter = Prequel X Wing

Pilot CloneTroopers will fly StarFighters which resemble X-wings.

"It would be really cool if they actually had 6 wings, two large engines and a tail gunner."

"The lasers just might be only on the two horizontal wings, huge cannons in fact. The other wings don't have anything and just sprout from the same point in the fuselage."

" Just FYI, if I was to guess the name of this ship, I would call it the ARC170 Clonefighter."

Yoda The Dragonfly Rider

Yoda will ride on the back of a large dragonfly like creature, of which a toy is planned for production.

Utapau

Utapau is a rock planet with sinkholes. Massive sinkholes are lined with dwellings up and down the sides of the vertical canyons.

Utapau has some strange, monstrous wildlife as well. These include lizards (such as the one we will see Obi-Wan riding when he faces Grievous) and large armored rhino-like creatures.

Sneak Preview Vehicles in November!

"Anakin's Starfighter (Yellow Trim) [preview vehicle]
Obi-Wan's Starfighter (Maroon Trim) [released later]

The packaging features LOTS of lava on a black box. Lava will be everywhere next summer. That and Vader - picture the figures in Vader and lava packaging. It's coming"

I'm hoping that the W-wing CloneFighter spoiler is true.

An X-Wing, with three fucking wings, and a Snow Speeder-style Tail Gunner would be fucking cool.

Since when is Josh Griffin taken seriously? I think some of these sounds cool but he seems to be regarded with some skepticisim.

Well, Griffen has been caught with his pulled story pants down quite a bit in recent months.

With that said, I have heard the new Clone Fighter was referred to as a W-wing, because like the letter "W" becomes "X" or something and the number of wings, for that matter. Because we already have pictures of Jedi Star Fighters and reports about Tri Fighters via HyperSpace, having X-Wing type ships in Episode III seemed sorta far-fectched.

From how Griffen is talking (and from what we know LOL), he has pictures and assloads of stuff. However , due to LFL and Hyper$pace, TFN can never post it.

So the sources and info will end up here eventually. :heavymetal:

Josh does get plenty of stuff which he doesn't post. Back in the days before AOTC, he mentioned several rumors to me in an email, which were later proven to be legit, which didn't make it to the main TFN page.

Likewise, I also sent him a bit about 6-8 months ago which was passed on to me through a gentleman through whom I had some ties to through my work. Apparently, thus guy had some connections to some pre-viz work for LFL and told me that some of his work encompassed the start and the end of Episode 3. He said both were very large scale battles, one of which was in space and the other was "in a wooded area, has lots of clones, and two characters from the original trilogy" (keep in mind, this was before we knew about Kashyyyk and Chewie, so I thought he was talking about Obi Wan, Anakin and/or Yoda). He also mentioned these two battles depicted the end of the Clone Wars and the start of the Rebellion. I passed this on to Josh who seemed interested, but sat on it for some reason or another which I may never know. Probably some legal stuff or something, but the point is that Josh may have some very legitimate reasons for not passing on some material which he gets ahold of, especially knowing that TFN is probably high up on LFL's watch list.

True, I really can't blame him for not posting everything he undoubtly knows with Lucas's underlings after him. So comes the price of being a well known site, I suppose.

Do the "W-Wings" look like the CW cartoon fighters? Those really were too bad ass to pass up...

Griffy said X-Wing + this:
http://www.stelzriede.com/ms/photos/planes/ju8730.jpg (<drag and drop)

This is in keeping with Lucas use of modern military craft influencing Prequel ship design's i.e. the Episode II Jedi Star Fighter and the Gun Ship, which itself was influenced by Russian helicopters:

Now to get the real picture :heavymetal:

To be honest... I don't like this W-wing and I hope that it won't make it into the movie.. I prefer somesort of B-wing for the Clones.

Quoted. I wish they'd use the Clone Wars cartoon design. That thing was so Star Wars it was sick.

The clonefighter is basically an escort for the gunships, expect to see it more involved in supporting ground assaults than in space battles. If the Gunship was modelled on the Hind helicopter than this fighter's counterpart would be the Harrier.

The rebels had to get their ships from somewhere.

A logical place would be older, decommissioned, out-of-date, Imperial ships.

Think Aphganistan. They use Russian military hardware against their enemies.

Where do they stick the astro-droids?

Why would clones need droids in their fighters? I think one of the advantages of clones over Jedi/Rebels is the lack of reliance on droids in battle because the clone's suits are so technologically advanced. That's my take on it anyway.

Griffen already posted a distorted pic rendering of what he has.
The wings are sorta placed mid-fuselage, like the Naboo N-1 Fighter, but not that far up front.

I can see what you're saying from the drop nose, memory makes it more alike than it actually is I reckon.

Here's the X Bomber for comparison.

Yes, it´s EU. But, the Rebel-pilots in Ep. IV are wearing helmets with rubbed-out Imperial symbols on them, thus indicating their former alligance.
