Knights of Ren Theory (Speculation) CAUTION! SPOILERS!

I know this thread will probably be shut down, or at least, sent to a different topic (probably someone else already speculated the same shite elsewhere), but ...

What if we actually saw the Knights of Ren in TLJ, and even saw them all die?

Back in Rey's flashback scene in TFA we briefly saw Kylo and 6 KoR standing behind him ...

If i'm not mistaken, the Praetorian Guards were also 6 ...

Sorry if i missed something from the TLJ Reference guide

Could be RJ's way of getting rid of both Snoke and KoR at the same time to take Kylo to the next development level without excess baggage.

Just my thoughts.

Peace!

I asked that question in another thread. It was just a random thought, but the more I think about it, the more I think it could be possible.

There were eight Praetorian Guards in the throne room - plus the other two dark purple robed aides, who look pretty damn cool.

I doubt the KoR were the Praetorians. Although none of this background is offered in TFA for the Knights, I remember Abrams saying in a interview (can't find the exact one at the moment) that the Ren surname was given to him upon joining the group. It was an honorary thing just like the Sith all being given the Darth title. So Kylo did not found or form the group himself and they probably are not the former Jedi students that Kylo took with him after betraying Luke. If they were the former students, why wouldn't they be using lightsabers? Instead the Knights were all wielding staffs and other types of melee weapons in the FA flashback. Hopefully these guys will make another appearance with Abrams back at the helm for IX.

I just saw the movie again, and yes, you are correct. There are more than 6 Praetorian Guards.

I hope we can get closure on the fate of the KoR ... And one possibility has to do with a Snoke Comment ... "Darkness rises, and light to meet it". I think that line not only refers to Kylo-Rey, but it also involves the new generation of Jedi (including the stable boy(s?) on the light side, and the KoR on the Darkness side.

Just a thought.

Peace!

Yes there were 8 Praetorian Guards in Snoke's throne room and I don't believe for one moment they were the Knights of Ren. However, I have a suspicion that the KoR will play a bigger role in IX now that Kylo is the Supreme Leader. They will his personal body guard as he hunts down the remaining Rebels and essentially goes full on darkside.

I suspect that they’ll be discarded like many other elements. Abrams being behind the wheel for IX may increase the chance of them reappearing, but I’d be surprised if they do. I think they were purely designed as a throw away alternative to the Sith, with very little thought to their ‘in universe’ structure or part in the story.

What if each Knight has his (or her) own personal Star Destroyer and reported via Hologram to KR their ongoing mission to find converts or crush the Resistance.

Also, might the 'Forceback' scene of their appearance be a premonition of a scene from Episode 9 ?

Kylo had his mask in the force vision.
