Thrilling episode with a few neat surprises! Rebels crew gets into some seriously dire straits in this episode. And I loved the way they handled Vader whether he's commanding, duelling or flying. What's also notable is how Ezra and Kanan talk of his presence. So disturbing and impactful after everything the official canonical stories have set up.

Such a good watch! :heavymetal:

"The Siege of Lothal" is a very good "Vader TV movie."

Vader wrecking shop in his TIE Advance meshes simultaneously with ANH, the PT, and TCW. Seeing Darth in his iconic ride also connects to my earliest memories of watching Star Wars.

In terms of Easter eggs, I liked the Stormtrooper with the red pauldron. Also, Phoenix Squadron's blue fighters and red flight suits is very Poe Dameron.

Witwer's Emperor is so spot-on. Did anyone else catch the Force Unleashed concept painting at the end of this episode's Rebels Recon? Maybe it's a clue about things to come?

JEJ absolutely nailed it. I was almost teary-eyed with joy hearing him speak new (and awesome) Darth Vader dialogue. It goes to show how important these OT characters really are to Star Wars. I really appreciated that they added the "tin" effect to mimic Vader's ANH voice.

I wish Ian would were on as Palpatine, but Witwer does a solid imitation.

Vader felt appropriately powerful and scary here, and was always one step ahead of the Rebels as he should. If we get one or two of those episodes a season, I'd be happy. Expertly executed.

I don't know why McDiarmid isn't game for voice work. Has he ever spoken about the subject?

Am I right in thinking that the Stormtrooper in the first image has a red pauldron?

EDIT: Never mind, it's definitely red. Apparently, the red trooper has been on the show in the past.

Absolutely amazing start for the new series! Loved pretty much everything about it, since it actually felt like a small movie with all of the stuff going on. I am wondering why is the show so bright and low on contrast - a bit of correction to the video settings really does wonders.

THIS is the most amazing awesome Animation work done for SW ever! Vader was perfect, they got him right in every way they could: appearance, moves, stance, fighting style, gestures, and most of all: JEJ as Vader does it as there has not been 38 years between Ep IV and this Episode. GREAT GREAT Stuff. REBELS is acclombishment beyond belive and it's everything I hoped for. Let's get some more tie ins with TCW and nods to Vaders Past and the nerdgasms are garantied.

THX to Filoni and his Crew for those most awesome great 43 Minutes of STAR WARS Entertainment!

Vader is back to his 1977 version. It was brilliant.

He also felt more "cinematic" than the other characters with all the restrained movement they gave him. Sometimes less is more, animators. Him playing them all the way to the end, reminds me of old Marvel comics Vader.
All in all, a great way to open the second season. :funkyninjaz:

It bears repeating how remarkable this episode was. I really hope JEJ is involved in more Star Wars going forward. His presence was awe-inspiring.

Here's the interview with Sarah Michelle Gellar, who at last reveals whom she will be voicing.

Now I'm waiting for the video with 5th Brother, I hope they will show it soon :)

Damn fine episode. Little light on the action but it was great seeing and hearing all the references to TCW.

All the clones reminded me of sun-baked, septuagenarian, Hemingway types often seen in and around the Florida Keys.

Also, pure Jaws homage bliss.

I thought the modified AT-TE was more inline with Howl's Moving Caste than a Sandcrawler.

I smiled repeatedly during this episode. Thankfully, the end of the TCW series didn't mean an end to the show's story arcs.

Yeah that was a really cool episode. I don't know why, but the bit with Probe made me feel like watching the old trilogy again. Even without much action going on I never felt like the episode dragged on, which happened a lot with Clone Wars episodes. Can't wait for the arc finale.

Strong start to season 2.

As skeptical as I was/am of the Disney acquisition, my favorite part of it was the new canon that was launched last year. The synergy between different mediums is something I've really enjoyed. That was never more apparent than in this episode. Kanan's suspicion of the clones stems directly from the events in the Kanan comic, where he was first-person witness to Order 66. The episode did a nice job of explaining why Kanan felt the way he did, but for those who - like me - have kept up on the comics, we could make the storytelling links. I hope we see more elements of this.

Also, really happy that Dee Bradley Baker can continue to find work in the Star Wars universe. He did such an admirable job on TCW, I hope he can continue as a voice actor in Rebels in some capacity. He's become a real credit to the group of actors in the franchise.

Haunting moment.

A series of shots establishing Star Destroyer location. Star Destroyer far in distance being eclipsed by one in the foreground and followed by a symmetrical shot of the bridge. Those visuals with that accompanying ambience was distinctly unsettling.

Loved the Jaws reference. Put a big smile on my face.

Great way to blend the two series. This is a great week to be a Star Wars fan.

The tone of the Jaws scene was all wrong. Zeb had just been eaten. There was no almost no concern for his character and no tension.

Karabast! I wasn't thinking that he automatically died. Tentacled Sarlaac pits and dianoga beasts don't kill their victims right away either. There was precedent.

By the way, the best downloadable versions of episodes past and present come from "YFN." Immaculate quality.

Rex and Ahsoka's reunion was handled perfectly. It will be sad to see them confront the truth about Anakin. I wonder if they will try to seek out Kenobi (as Vader hopes)?

Ok lets go back to where we began with Kim Dotcom's megaupload successor "mega.nz" or "mega.co.nz" which I gather is short for Meganz or Megaconz.

You are given three download options
1. MegaSync FireFox add-on
2. Import to you MegaDrive account.
3. Download through your brower (suggested).

If you have or intend to use Mega.nz for "sharing" be sure to use the FULL LINK option from the pulldown menu. (FULL LINK contains the decryption key needed for access.)

Thank you, Darthpsychotic.
Episode 4 not as good as 3 but still very entertaining. I don't think I've ever seen an animated series with equally excellent music. They actually care. On the other hand, they're using the BEST, J. Williams source material, so perhaps it's almost obvious.
Funny how an old fart like me finds something for himself in a cartoon ;) .

It was good to see Hondo even if he's on the opposite trajectory of Lando. His line about the "sickening" nature of a "fair" deal was great. Somewhere, GL is laughing.

I really like Rebels and look forward to each new episode. But, the show really lacks the textured quality of The Clone Wars' stories and production design. (Maybe, I just miss Obi-wan and Anakin.)

The fact that Hondo's pirate logo appears on a flag in The Force Awakens is awesome. Live-action Clone Wars characters can't be far away, right?

Azmorigan's Lady Luck-inspired ship reminds me of the Jedi Outcast video game.

Amazing episode!

The scene of the prototype B-wing's test flight was exhilarating and, to borrow Quarry's sentiment, "masterful." I could truly feel the blaze of its speed and sharp maneuvering.

Loved the look of shock on Kallus' face when the cruiser was destroyed by the B-wing's crossed-fire.

I'm a prequel nut (Simon Pegg can go fuck himself) but seeing the B-wing in such grandeur took me back to my childhood when I appreciated it as one of the more distinctive aspects of ROTJ.

Also, what a violent opening. One of the few times we've seen some serious rebel deaths.

The episode reminded me of James Cameron's "Avatar" - the new planet, "birds", first flight, and one of the missions in "Mass Effect 2" (this on board of "Estevanico") .

Definitely my favorite episode in the series so far. Excellent.
Quarrie was cool and I liked the way his uniform was the same color scheme as the ROTJ B Wing.

When 1080p is incorporated into the title then there is both 720p and 1080 downloads.

Best Rebels episode yet! :chewbacca:

Like a condensed version of ANH. Or like obsequious fan fiction but in an oddly but totally reverent and satisfying way.

Hilarious banter between Rex and Kanan. And those quintessential '77 visuals are so potent and seemingly ageless.
