The Digital Bits' rumors of a 3D prequel trilogy release has me, and perhaps only me, licking my lips in ravenous anticipation. But I can't get too excited over another TFA purchase. Will resist but I must find a way to hear Abrams' commentary and see those new deleted scenes.

Thoughts?

Looks good. I'll get it because I'm a Star Wars consumer whore. :XD:

Don Hertzfeldt FTW!

I can almost pin my entire dissatisfaction with TFA on that fucking rathtars sequence. Getting through that part is such a slog for me.

Only two new deleted scenes according to The Digital Bits:

  • Leia & The Resistance
  • Unkar Plutt at Maz’s Castle

Interesting. I wasn't sure if they had even filmed the Unkar/Maz's Castle scene.

Looks terrible.

Again, no trailers or TV spots.

Won't be buying.

It doesn't come with cereal bowl caddies either! What's up with that?!

Seriously, trailers and TV spots on a home video release belongs to a bygone era. Get over it.

It should never be bygone.

Won't be getting my money.

It won't sell and Disney will try to hide the fact.

What the fuck does YouTube have to do with wanting on a disc that can clearly hold it?

Put down the crack pipe. :ass2mouth:

But would it have killed them to give us the trailers and tv spots?

There is room on the discs, no?

Instead, they repeat content from the first release and I'll bet 75% of the new stuff is utter shit.

Do you really want to listen to an Abrams commentary? Kasdan, yes. Abrams, no.

Do we need a repeat of everything from the first release?

A little thought (and thoughtfulness) on their part would go a long way.

It's true that not giving customers the trailers on Blu-ray is becoming the norm now, but does that mean we have to like it? :what:

Here is The Digital Bits review of the new 3D Blu Ray: thedigitalbits.com /star-wars-force-awakens-3d-ce-bd/

Quote:
He (J.J. Abrams) hints at an elaborate backstory that once existed in the script to explain how Maz got her hands on Luke’s lightsaber. “There are better ways we can tell that story later,” he notes.
