Urm, it was a bit sparse. Pretty much fitted a lot of the rumour mill stuff, nothing at all of the OT characters except for updated stormtroopers. I must be getting old, not being thrilled about it ;) Actually felt like a trailer for a 1990s computer game - close-up of characters and sparse backgrounds.

Not sure I feel about the new saber and roller droid but holy shit the X-Wings, Stormtroopers and MF. Very beautiful.

Much better than I expected but I still want my Han, Luke, Leia!

Looks fun and pleasingly unlike the dead serious Old Republic cut scenes I loathe with a passion.

Love the soccer ball droid and three-bladed flamesaber designs. Future of the future cool, if that makes any sense.

And it's great seeing the fresh, young faces of new Star Wars. Bravo!

new saber and falcon, looked good for a teaser to me.

Boyega's character still has me wondering. is he a storm trooper or just in the get up to escpae from someone.

Not a lot to go on
Guess that is the point
Who's voice is that?
Droid looks silly, but I take that is the point
Flame saber didn't think I would like, but so far AWESOME
The rest cool I guess
I means there is actually a new star wars and they are going to release it

I really liked the new locations so far. Snowy woods and the environment with X-wings. Gives it a unique feel even though it looks like a lot of Tatooine again.

I liked the droid and the X-wings over the water looked cool. MF looked a little CGI to me and the lightsaber looked stupid...but Ill wait to see it in action. Snowy woods reminded me of Game of Thrones. lol...so THATS whats over the mountain. HAHA

Loved the visuals - especially the X-Wing shot.

The saber is badass looking but makes so little sense (what possible purpose could those tiny little jets on the side serve other than to cut off your own hand? Remind me to not grab that saber with two hands).

Loved the shot of the troopers in the ship.

MF ending shot was awesome.

Bummer to not see any of the OT characters, but liked the trailer as it was.

Overall, glad Abrams seemed to have nailed the film visually at least.

PS - Was that Cumberbatch doing the voice??

I'm just glad it's not the MF that was in that terrible looking GIF that was going around. Thought of the exact same thing when I saw the snowy woods, figuring white walkers to come at him there for a second. :P

I just wanna know who's voice that was.

Oh yeah and +1 for having the troopers in what appears to be real (non 100% cgi) armor again.

CGI-ing the clonetroopers was a useful experiment in photorealistic character rendering, but that experiment's over and time to go back to basics again I think. Both are legit, but real people in real armour make for more 'earthy' interaction with real-world environments... not to forget the nostalgia factor.

The Millennium Falcon looks slimmer. Like it does in some old McQuarrie illustrations I've seen.

So much mystery. What a tease!

Oh my, this trailer's givin' me the vapors.

That other trooper helmet is a "flame trooper", not the standard.
The light-broadsword was cool in action. :funkyninja: :funkyninja: :funkyninja:

I didn't expect to see much tangible. Afterall, it was just a teaser.

I liked the quick shot of Boyega coming up into frame, looking sweaty and confused. A nice tone-setter shot.

The X-Wings going along the surface looked SWEET. Those two shots give this teaser a nice sense of urgency.

I'm also not understanding the function of the flame-saber, but I suppose all will be revealed in time.

I just really never thought I would see the day when I'd be seeing footage from a new Star Wars movie. That by itself, put a smile on my face.

Well, I'd say it's Cumberbatch. Very Smaug-like (before voice enhancement, of course).

And about the new lighsaber - if the cross-guard works the same way as the blade, it makes sense, just as cross-guards of medieval swords do.
Perhaps some of the Jedi wouldn't lose their limbs so easily if they came up with something like a cross-guard ;) .

I'm happy we got to see actual scenes from the movie. I don't think we've heard any rumors regarding what the "awakening" means.

And this is the direct download link to the 1080p version from Apple's servers:

Yeah, Sydow has a pretty pronounced accent and I've seen enough of his movies over the years to be able to pick out his voice easily. That's most likely Andy Serkis.

Have to say I'm quite nonplussed by the trailer. Some of those shots are striking, particularly the X-Wings over the water but I can't help but feel the intangible qualities George brought to the films really are going to be lost in favor of generic sci-fi bullshit. It may get the heart rate pumping but it left my imagination floundering. Hopefully this is not a portent of things to come, they did just wrap filming a short while ago. I sincerely hope others get more out of this than me.

Head literally spinning. Wow, just wow. Pretty sure I actually shed a tear, but I have been a sadfaced little bitch lately. Anyone else, let me know if you have had this reaction or if I'm just having my period.

Cuz that got me stoked. Even if I hate it, I'm certain I'm going to love watching it. Looks great. Noticeably more JJ than Lucas from those shots, and not in a bad way. Wow.

Basically my thoughts as well. The cinematography was beautiful for a teaser. It's early but I can't complain yet.(Except for the lack of OT characters in the trailer :jango: )

Can anyone identify the actor in the X-Wing cockpit? I have no idea who it is. Possibly just an extra?

Beautiful shots/cinematography
Mystery Box in full swing via JJ
Stormtroopers look great

Not sure on the Flamesaber, doesn't seem practical, but that was my favorite shot from the trailer along with the falcon.

The opening shot seemed like a fan film, too long before Boyega pops-up and looked like a green screen background.

Overall, didn't give too much away, which I expected, but the missing George Intangibles really stood out. Aside from working with the actors and getting top notch performances, nobody could touch George's visual style, pacing and juxtaposition of visuals, sound and music.

The visual movement and eye-tracing from JJ as opposed to George will be interesting to see.

So let it begin: Miss Uncle George Yet?

Lucas getting top notch performances from actors? When did this happen? I'm not a lucas hater, i like the prequels, especially episode iii, but that is by far his weakness. Visually, its hard to judge from an 88 second teaser, but that was his strength but i don't think empire missed having lucas at the chair.

Beginning felt fan made. Didnt freak the first viewing... by the 5th i was more excited.

X wing and falcon scenes were the best. Not a fan of saber design. I dont think thats Han piloting the Falcon... its saying a new light side force while showing that. One of his kids is the new savior?

I think its cumberbatch doing the voice.

Did you notice the Imperial Probe Droid sound effect at the end of the opening shot?
