Link: New Clone Wars Story Reels Announced

Text:
In a special March 2014 StarWars.com blog post celebrating the Netflix release of Star Wars: The Clone Wars – The Lost Missions, series supervising director Dave Filoni thanked fans for their continued support, and shared his own sketches and concept art. He ended his post with one teaser image and note, addressing one of the show’s unanswered questions: “Yes, Echo is alive.” Finally, fans of the clone trooper will find out how and why.

StarWars.com is thrilled to announce that a previously unreleased four-episode story reel, “Bad Batch,” telling the story of how Captain Rex and company rescued Echo, will screen exclusively at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. The unfinished episodes (similar to the Utapau arc that appeared on StarWars.com) feature complete, final voice performances, specifically by Dee Bradley Baker, who voices the elite clones of “Bad Batch” group.

The screening will take place at the Digital Stage on Friday, April 17, at noon. A Q&A with Filoni, Baker, and writers Brent Friedman and Matt Michnovetz will follow. So mark your calendars, and prepare to welcome back one of the clone army’s greatest warriors!

This should be cool. I feel like Rex, Fives and Echo were the most high-profile clones featured in the series. Could this arc also spell out the (presumed) demise of Rex?

Sweeeeeeeeeee...!!! This'll obviously find its way online at SW.com at some point, I'm sure.

I'll take it in whatever form. Even an iPhone recording of Dave Filoni slurring out a thorough description of it after a late night bender in downtown San Fran.

Great indeed. I wonder if this will be canon also as the Utapau Arc.

I even more hope for a CANON story of the kidnapping of Palps just before Ep III. CN Clone Wars from 2005 is LEU as is Labyrinth of Evil. I want something official from Filoni!

Too many interesting episodes left untold. At least, we get this arch.

It's finished in story reel form, just like the Utapau arc. I don't see why it wouldn't be. Especially since Filoni said Echo survived over a year ago and later said this arc shows what happened to him.

As expected, it's wonderfully fun stuff. The climax in the third episode with the new dinosaur battle droids and the walkers is pretty amazing. Even in unfurnished form, "only in Star Wars" excitement is unbound.

The Untold Panel is up for viewing. It's a shame that Disney didn't give the show one more full season.

The Ventress book stands to be epic.

Just finished watching the first episode of the Bad Batch arc.

Love the concept and execution of the titular squad of clones. And that long take during the taking of the outpost was spec-fucking-tacular! It's been said many and many ways but it bears repeating: That production ceased on this series after the deal is a Star Wars crime of a most shameful order.

Mace's persuasive appeal to the droids in the final episode of the arc. One of the best bits of comedy from the series.

Almost topped by Wrecker's "happiest day of my life" line.

Damn fine arc! :heavymetal:

A very helpful YouTuber has uploaded these 4 episodes. Most of you who wish to download these for "safe keeping" probably already know how to do so!
