As cool as this would be, you know they'd never be able to make a scaled version of the AT-TE, as much as we'd want one. Still, I'm stoked to finally have something ot put my AT-TE driver in :P

Great Clone Wars pic as well.

The background structures in the CW pic reminds me of early ESB concept art where Hoth had abandoned buildings on its surface. It also has some slight Cloud City feel to it (both original concept art wise and Special Edition wise).

Introducing Dave Filoni • Directing Clone Wars

Image

EXCERPTS:

Relating The Clone Wars to Star Wars Tales

"I always think of what we're making as Star Wars Tales," explains Filoni, referring to the comic book series from the 1990s. "It's filling in details that the fans kind of wondered about."

"Take Han Solo - he's the guy down the street with his car up on blocks - how does he work his problems out in life? It tells interesting stories to fill in the gaps and also lets you know more about the characters and about the choices they've made."

Background Characters

Filoni uses his favorite character from the saga, Plo Koon, to explain how the Clone Wars might present characters that were marginal in the films.

"Plo Koon is a completely obscure Jedi Master who sits in a chair in the Council room and does not have a line of dialog in three films - but I like his design. So now we can take a character like Plo Koon and put him in three episodes and show what he was doing or how he crossed paths with Anakin or Obi-Wan."

The Clone Wars Clone Troopers

The clones of the Clone Wars, who have often been relegated to background characters in the movies, will also come to the fore with individual personalities according to Filoni.

"The clones become a big aspect of the war as much as the Jedi, because George is developing what the clones are really like - he wants them to be more individual than people ever thought. He wants clones that might be deserters, he wants clones that might be betrayers, they're not just a programmed thing like everyone believes."

Working For George Lucas

"One day he [Lucas] said, 'Look, I'm teaching you guys how to make Star Wars.' It's incredibly exciting working directly with George Lucas to make Star Wars, and not in a 'I see him every now and then kind of way' - I answer to him directly every Friday."

So are they going to keep with the comics too? I like the stories about clones.

Plo Koon about town

Dressing up like Plo Koon? This guy's a joker. I fear for the CWs.

This part sounds unbelievably dumb. If I were Palpatine and had paid all that money to the cloners on Kamino to make an army of yes men and clones deserted/sold out/etc, I'd use their planet as target practice for Star Destroyers.

Why didn't you kill him there and then? He wears a ridiculous cowboy hat too - which is always a worry. Indie, Wayne, The Lone Ranger now they can get away with wearing this type of hat. This guy? No he can’t! Put him in prison Mr Lucas along with the writers of the Holiday Special!

End of rant for today that is.
PS If they CWs is a massive triumph, I shall retract this statement and go and live in a small igloo.

I doubt they would be like this. Lucas portrayed them as adherent to Palpatine and they were engineered that way. Weren't Obi-Wan and his commander supposed to be friends? Then he gets the order and doesn't hesitate to blow him off a cliff. It sounds like Lucas is totally re-thinking the whole concept.

I don't think Lucas is changing anything. Recall the curious, somewhat disdainful clone that looks up at the walkway during Obi-Wan's tour of Kamino as the Kaminoan describes the clones' education process. Also, in the original draft I'm positive there was a clone trooper named "Oddball" (reference to "Kelly's Heroes"?), who doesn't follow the Order 66 protocol and assists Obi-Wan in some way.
