Synopsis: The dark warrior Savage Opress is on a quest to find his long-lost brother. I found the Maul reveal to be kind of silly. I know it wanted to play as being dark and brooding but I didn't get it. I didn't like the crab-like body either.

I don't think this Maul comeback is for me. It's way too contrived for me to be interested.

The red opening logo was a nice touch.

Darth Maul reminded me of the psychotic Jedi Master in the first Force Unleashed game (also found on a junkyard planet). Once a dignified, stoic, man of few words. Now a loquacious, neurotic wreck. It's an interesting choice. But I need to know how he survived. I really hope there's some flashback in the coming episode(s). If they just pass over it like it's not a big deal, I will be very, very disappointed.

Really looking forward to the next episode, we get a season five trailer!

As for Darth Maul, meh. It could have been interesting, but honestly the scene with the Yoda in the temple killed it for me. I can't sense a Sith Lord when I'm sitting right across from him, but I can sense Darth Maul just as this episode airs? What the heck? Why didn't they sense him on Naboo when they (presumably) were on the same planet? Clone Wars, please stop giving Jedi selective god-abilities.

Ehhh..to do that you'd have to ask Uncle George to stop giving Jedi selective God powers. Same argument could be made about Yoda sensing Anakin was kinda pissy in AotC from halfway across the galaxy, but couldn't tell Palpatine was a goddamn Sith Lord until well after his whole plot was revealed. Hardly CWs fault. And, I think Wittweir said they aren't actually going to dwell at all on how he survived, so, you know, get used to dissapointment and all that.

I think the two are completely different. One being believable and the other not.

In Attack of the Clones you have a couple of things going on. First, Anakin is the chosen one. Only George really knows what that means, but we can assume Anakin is a huge "force" in the force. Well... you get what I mean. When he, for the first time, unleashes his anger, someone deep in force meditation can notice that something is up. The cosmos shook with his rage perhaps?

I say the cosmos shook because the key to why Yoda knew something was up with Anakin was a voice broke through from somewhere and cried out "No Anakin! No!" I think that was the moment Qui-Gon first revealed his spirit to Anakin AND Yoda. So if Yoda did hear Qui-Gon's voice, and he heard the word "Anakin", well, of course he knew something was wrong with the chosen one. But it was vague, he didn't say "Skywalker's mom just died" or "poor Tuskens". He used the generic Jedi code words for, something is up.

Compare that to this episode. There is no single event that happens which would result in a disrupting of the force! No one dies, no one unleashes a great amount of anger (hate is what kept Maul alive, we can't assume he just got MORE angry). And even if something is happening to upset the "flow of the force" how can Yoda be SO specific? I was OK with Dooku saying "something is rising" because it is vague. They should have kept it that way.

Or Watto's voice more like it...jeesus I can't believe they tried to get away with that as a Neeson impression. Anyways, haven't seen the episode yet, but it still hardly seems like inconsistent Jedi abilities can be solely pinned on this show.

The two Force-strong brothers unite and plot revenge. That's usually a big deal, since the Jedi dwell on the fact the Dark Side is growing in the Prequels. It's like this, if two strong Sith converge, they make an impact on the balance of the Force or some shit. That's my explanation.

As for Maul's survival, he probably got sucked into a ventilation shaft like Luke in Cloud City.

Yeah, but the brothers didn't meet until well after Yoda knew something was up with Maul.

Okay, had a quick scan through it this morning. I don't have an issue with Yoda sensing it, as Maul was pretty much loopy this whole time, but then suddenly faced with his brother something seemed to half snap back into place in his brain. He suddenly seemed to remember some things, or at least suddenly had them thrown back in his face and that REALLY pissed him off. Strong, well trained and disciplined Sith suddenly with a brain full of nothing but revenge against someone Yoda knows well...yeah, I can let that one slide.

Overall, kind of a dissapointing episode though, and seems like a waste of one of the two remaining ones this season. It seems like not a whole hell of a lot happened, particularly as we all already knew who was in the shadows. Might have been different if it was in fact some kind of "HOLY SHIT!" surpirse rather than "Oh for fucks sake, get on with it and get him out here!" moment.

Just watched the episode and I must say that it was just ok - nothing too special.
As for Yoda's vision, it might have something to do with Maul getting tracked. Before that he was never even mentioned, but now he has been revealed and his discovery could have led to the raise of his awereness in the force.
