Chewbacca Makes his Clone Wars Debut

First Liam Neeson and Qui-Gon, then Tarkin, now we've got Chewie. Peter Mayhew is lending his voice (no idea what this means) and mannerisms to his Clone Wars counterpart.

Chewbacca will be featured in the final two episodes of Season III. Click here to see his introduction.

So it looks like much of the material seen in the mid-season trailer (apart from the Mortis trilogy) belong to the two season finale episodes.

The arc will probably have to do with some Transdoshan slavers taking Wookies off planet. In one of the episodes a slave ship crash-lands on Felucia where Ahsoka and company are fighting a battle, or looking for that lost padawan. They happen upon Chewie in the wreckage and all four (or five) of them have to make their way somewhere to get off planet. Or something like that.

So we've got Greedo from earlier, and now force-ghosts, Tarkin and Chewie in this season's second half. No wonder Dave Filoni said this season would reference a lot from the OT. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

But April 1 seems like a long way off for a two-episode season finale. Are there going to be more episodes this season then there's been in the past? Or will there be a couple weeks off sometime between the Citadel episodes and these episodes? There are only like five left by last year's count.

They say Mayhew recorded dialogue. Really? Do you think Chewbacca will finally TALK like Greedo does in CW and like Chewie does in the Robot Chicken III special?

I wonder because the Wookie-speak in the 1970's Christmas Special was unBEARable :chewbacca:

And if we see young Indy - I mean Solo - in the LAS, it will probably be on Kashyyk ... RRWOWRR?

awesome news of course, I knew this would happen at some point so glad to hear its coming

I hope it's just a beginning, because what I want to see most is more Kashyyyk ... ROTS was just a glimpse i would love to see more of that great planet explored CW style, looks like they won't go there this time so let's hope to see it in season 4, maybe with Yoda

I hadn't noticed this in regards to Peter Mayhew:

Quote:
However, he did record dialogue for the character, having learned over the years to emulate the blend of bear growls and other animal noises used to create Chewie’s voice.

Should be quite interesting. Why not simply use archival sound created by Ben Burtt for the OT?

Whoa. They're going all out with this Chewie appearance - he's kicking ass!

One of the things I loved from the EU is the Wookie/Trandoshan animosity. I can't wait to see this explored in CW
