EXCERPT:

As we all know the “Star Wars” saga is far from over with not one but two television series in development.

The live action series is set to take place after the events of Episode III meaning a Mace Windu appearance ain’t looking so likely BUT there’s always the new CGI animated Clone Wars series.

And Sam Jackson sounds game to return.

• ”Yeah, absolutely,” Jackson told MTV News today when asked if he’s interested in voicing the Mace Windu character in the new series.

• “I would love to,” Jackson said when asked if he’s ready to be the ill-fated Jedi warrior once again.

• “I have talked to them about it,” he said.

• ”A lot of people love that character,” Jackson continued, pondering the continuing adventures of the only Jedi on record to wield a purple lightsaber.

Most exciting of all? Jackson confirmed that Lucas and company have expressed interest.

This would be pretty sweet if it's actually true.

Eh, I wouldn't get too excited. Remember the Frank Oz rumors?

From today's Variety article on the show:

Quote:
The only original actors returning are Anthony Daniels as C3PO and Matthew Wood as General Grievous and the battledroids.

They might as well have the original cast return to reprise their roles for the voices.

I'm really disappointed that they didn't seem to get Temuera Morrison to do the clone voices. He had even done videogame voiceovers before.

It's great to know Samuel Jackson and Lucasfilm are talking but there are already 30 episodes (or mini-movies if you will) of The Clone Wars finished. MTV.com is also reporting Hayden Christensen is up for some voicework:

mtv.com /movies/

[hr]
"Hayden Christensen, who played Anakin in "Sith" and "Clones," told MTV News that he hasn't been called to participate in the project, but expressed his interest to do so all the same.

"I'd be happy to do the voice," he said. "That'd be a neat thing for me to do. So tell them to ask me about that."'

Does/Would LucasFilm spend some extra $'s to secure one of the actual film celebs for a voice credit ??? (I'd like to see it but I really doubt it)

If the price was right for Lucas & Co. I don't see them having a problem w/ scraping an existing voice track (in the 11th hour) to use a Christensen, Jackson, Oz Etc.

You're absolutely right - it's all about the $$$. Of the main cast, the only two who I imagine wouldn't be up for this are Natalie and Ewan. The rest of them are just a matter of George paying the big bucks. But, seeing as he is paying for these out of his own pocket, I can see him cheapening out on this. Remember that production on the live action series should be ramping up now that the WGA strike is over, and that money is also coming out of his pocket.
