Nice find, DP. Feels good to be back in the know, SW-Style.

Forum's member Rif of Imperial City Online (Starwars.pl) is the one who got and uploaded the video, perhaps they can post a downloadable original copy which is presumabley in higher-quality. The trailer was supposed to be in front of WB's Speed Racer on May 9th.

If the official trailer is released, anyone can go head and post a new thread about that.

Regarding the trailer; the lightsabers are rotoscoped with movie quality, weird in a awesome way viewing Jabba's Palace from Return Of The Jedi, and Twilek Slave Girl's. :monocle:

Wow. :yay:

Things that stood out to me were: the very fluid lightsaber combat (kudos to the animators) and shots of clone troopers dropping like flies. Didn't Mace Windu sound like he was voiced by Sam Jackson?

Impressive. Most Impressive.

It looks very promising, imho. The only annoying bit was Yoda's kinda obsolete assignment of orders to Obi-Wan and Anakin, but that can be forgiven, lol.

That does look pretty bad ass and I agree Topeka about the fluid of the Lightsaber combat.

By the way I think from early reports they did get Sam Jackson to do the voice of Mace Windu for the Clone Wars since he loves the character Mace a lot and enjoyed doing that in the films.

Y'know I kinda liked it. I'm still not sold on the Baby Hutt stuff but look, it's a star-wars trailer it's going to be well-edited and inspiring people to go see it. That's what the SW trailers always do. So in that regard, I definitely expected nothing less than that. All that being said, it's not going to make me pay to see it. Heh.

I thought that was pretty good. Thanks for the leakers/posters and thanks for the mediafire upload DP.

Allthough I still think Dooku looks odd, I think the fact that they went with a more realistic approach to the environments and equipment puts this series firmly in place among the SW universe. I was a little nervous at first that the animation style would look strange enough to totally put me off, but after seeing the trailer, I'm comfortable in saying I'm probably going to nerd the fuck out all over this one.

And yeah, seeing Jabba's palace again was cool. I hope they throw bits like that in from time to time, places or situations we may have seen before, but in new and different ways.

And yes, the baby hutt stuff is kind of :whateva: . But for some reason, after seeing this all in motion, if such a tale is wrapped up in all the action I'm expecting/ hoping for, I might not mind.

This is the theatrical trailer that is attached to Speed Racer on May 9 2008. It's possible that a new version is produced for Speed Racer and it's near certain that Starwar.com releases this version come Monday. It's like the "old days" of 2005 when the Revenge Of The Sith trailer leaked in South America and we edited MF Hard Copy soundbytes into it.

Only now it's the Polish doing the heavy lifting.

Round of applause for Rif, Maveritchell, and Zaius for the TotalFilm magazine scans.

I must say it looks pretty good. The rumor mill has Speed Racer carrying the final TDK trailer as well.

I'm not as excited about this as I would be for a new Star Wars film directed by George Lucas, but I'm definitely on board. It'll be interesting to see how this trailer plays in a theater with a crowd of casual fans.

From the trailer, regarding Mace Windu's line - it's possible that Lucasfilm could have used some Jackson audio from the prequels or another film-related source. Perhaps a one-time recording such as Jones did for Revenge Of The Sith was done.

Lucas said at his recent ShoWest appearance that there will be all new voice actors with none of the film actors. Except for Anthony Daniels as 3PO of course.

Eh, I think it's just a really good voice impersonator. As opposed to the Palpatine/Sidious VA, who sounds nothing like McDiarmid. At least the clones appear to have gotten their accents back.

I like what I see and I think that a lot more would, too, if they wouldn't always expect something utterly superb. You'd think that these people would learn after getting disapointed on a regular basis ;)

The style reminded me of the Turtles CGI which came out while back (altough I haven't seen the actual flick) and I think that I wouldn't have it any other way now that I see what they've done - even though Yoda has been squeezed too much to look like a damned gremlin.

The sound seemed okay, if nothing that gripping. Clearly some impersonators, which is a pity. They mixed few melodies quite interestingly but I think it was a trailer-gimmick since those themes don't overlap so effortlessly that it'd sound natural over more than few seconds, and being that it's Anakin & Co., I wouldn't expect too much new stuff (as someone pondered over who does the score elsewhere in the forums).

Though, I would love to hear some new things, but they'd really have to be stunning to stand up to Williams' stuff - maybe with the live action series we'll hear new things. Jesse Harlin's score for the Republic Commando game was great and Jeremy Soule has managed some nice melodies too... only if he didn't focus on making his music sound big.

Anyways, I bet this'll look awesome on bluray :)

The Clone Wars theatrical movie is made up of the first three episodes. Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka are sent back to Tatooine to retrieve Jabba The Hutt's son (Rotta) in exchange for cooperation in The Clone Wars. The release for the Live-Action Series is now being floated by Lucas and Sansweet for 2010

Up top is the theatrical poster.

Starwars.com announced that the theatrical trailer will "premiere" on Thursday May 08 2008 on CartoonNetwork, CNN, and a few other Turner related channels.

Still, the poster looks good and that new shot of the Clone Troopers at the OS looks badass. Hopefully they'll broadcast the trailer in HD on TNT.
