Looks like they're the real deal. Slashfilm ran a story with these photos a little while ago and now it's been pulled. Personally, I love these collector's sets. I only wish Warners would unify the designs into one ultimate package for the uber collector but at this point I'll take whatever they're pushing. Here's hoping they do something special for the Blu-Ray release as well.

Oh and Hige, you may want to fix the Batpod photo link. It just kicks back to the Batcowl case diagram instead. Just FYI.

Yeah, I would appreciate something similar for the Blu-ray release. Nevertheless, it will be hard to choose which set to go with. Perhaps It's worth buying both the Mask set and also the Batpod set.

Fixed it. I hope. :)

Oh, do you mean the Warners lot? Which theater are they screening it at?

Nah the Fox Pico lot. They screen new movies from all the other studios as part of a deal, but they're delayed by about a month or so. =/

I'm usually patient enough these days to wait though(unless it's something I have to see immediately!).

For example, glad I waited to see the latest Indy movie on the lot for free cause boy that stunk!

Oh, nice. Didn't know they had that kind of deal going between the studios.

"The Dark Knight" was one of those flicks I just couldn't wait to see and was willing to put up with the obnoxious crowds on opening weekend. Fortunately, the movie is such that even the loudest of the bunch settled down after the first scene. Hope you enjoy it as much as (almost) everyone else on here has. Those studio screening rooms can be pretty nice, I'm sure you're going to get a great presentation of the flick. I caught "Blade Runner" at the Steven J. Ross theater on the WB lot a few months back and that was incredible. I mean the theater itself made even the best auditoriums at the Arclight on Sunset seem like the local dollar matinee multiplex.

It's also on Demonoid. Here's one version on Demonoid that's an ISO Image.

I've been having a hard time getting big torrent files downloaded lately. It took me forever to get The Incredible Hulk. There seems to be a lot of people cutting and running. They don't seem to seed as long.

Either that or I'm downloading during slow periods. I haven't got into a good swarm with a big file for a long time.

I'm about three quarters of the way through with the megashares download. I should have it done, burned and on my tv by Thursday. ;)

Nice, Hige. :heavymetal: I'm liking the extras. They seem better than the Batman Begins two disc. We were robbed of two trailers with that one.

I still think I'm going mask and steelbook.

Did anyone see the Iron Man at Target? It's the same type of case.

Just want to give everyone here a heads up about the DVD/Blu-ray release this Tuesday.

Best Buy is doing midnight openings at good number of their physical locations Monday night/Tuesday morning. Go to bestbuy.com/darkknight for the complete list as well as all the exclusives they're offering the night of release. [s]Still haven't seen the Bat-Mask turn up anywhere.[/s]

EDIT: As with Iron Man, hit up Target if you're looking to dawn the plastic cowl.

I'm not seeing any two disc Steelbook editions anywhere even though we got pictures of it. I've checked Circuit City, Best Buy, Wal-Mart and K-Mart. Circuit City seems to have a Standard two disc with a Joker cover. It's the "Why So Serious" poster, but I can't tell if it's just a cardboard slipcover over the regular two disc case.

What sucks is the two disc (Standard and BluRay) has the awful Batpod cover art as opposed to the burning Bat Symbol art from the final movie poster. They are using that awesome cover art for the one disc. WTF? And Joe is right about Target. Only Target stores seem to be carrying these exclusive mask cases. I'm surprised they didn't do one for The Incredible Hulk.

Promos
Best Buy is giving away a Joker playing card with the purchase of TDK. It's the card from that last Joker promo pic. It has Batman on it instead of the joker from the playing cards in the film.
K-Mart is giving away a 2009 TDK calendar with purchase.
Circuit City is giving away a TDK journal (?) with purchase of the two disc (Standard and BluRay).
Wal-Mart has a package that includes a comic book and a Two-Face coin. Very cool. The problem is that the gift set is only available with the standard one disc, not the two disc or the BluRay. :whatevaho: Also, Wal-Mart is selling the gift set in both Widescreen and Full Frame versions. Who the fuck is buying Full Frame DVDs?

This is the gift pack at Wal-Mart with comic book and coin.

Okay, I did a little detective work.

It looks like the little Batpod model/case is only available with BluRay. Bat Cowl case is available in both Standard Two Disc and BluRay, however, you can only get it at Target as Joe indicated. I'm not sure about the Joker case at Circuit City, but the difference might be alternate cover art and the addition of a digital copy. I'm trying to find out.

EDIT: The steelbooks seem to be coming out of Canada only, but I could be wrong about this. I'm seeing some up for bid on Ebay. The Circuit City with the Joker cover does appear to be a cardboard slipcover over the Standard two disc case with the same Batpod cover art that's available everywhere else. All two discs (Standard and BluRay) appear to come with digital copy - a code, not a third disc. Also, Best Buy is selling the two disc Standard and BluRay with a Clown mask or a Batman mask should you want one. It's twelve bucks more.

This is the Standard and BluRay steelbook that seems to be coming out of Canada.
