I got to see Balls of Fury in its entirety at a special screening/world premiere. When we got the tickets at the Rogue Pictures booth we had no idea what we were in for. It was a huge pain in the ass to wait for the tickets, but we are glad we did. At the premiere, there were cameras and some celebrities. Seth Green and Matthew Seinreich were there to see the premiere as well as one of the guys from clueless and someone from Dodgeball. Of course Dan Fogler, Thomas Lennon, and Ben Garant were there as well.

The movie was hilarious, although short. It set the stage immediately, starting out in the 1988 olympics with young Randy Daytona (Dan Fogler) failing in the olympics in Table Tennis against Karl Wolfschtagg (Thomas Lennon). Fast forward to Reno, NV 19 years later and Randy is overweight and out of shape. He is now performing Ping Pong tricks in a small restaurant/dinner theater establishment. Naturally, he gets fired from that job. They could've spent a little more time with Randy being down and out, but instead they jump straight to George Lopez the FBI agent asking Randy to be a Table Tennis "mole" of sorts to bring down the infamous Feng (Christopher Walken) and his underground Ping Pong tournament. Randy's trainer is none other than actor James Hong, who is blind in the film. Insert hilarious training sequences here.

The film is pretty predictable, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Like Dodgeball, the ending is inevitable and it wouldn't be funny any other way. Balls of Fury is a perfect spoof of 80's fight movies and even has one specific reference to Big Trouble in Little China. I enjoyed it more than Dodgeball and Beerfest. Christopher Walken is absolutely brilliant as Feng, as he almost always is. Dan Fogler reminds me of a funnier Jack Black, and there are tons of cameos for those who are fans of the Lennon/Garant productions.

The cast stayed after for Q&A as well as some autographs, and that's when I got my photo of Tom and I together (with me in my Dangle costume) autographed. We considered talking to Seth Green, but we didn't want to bother him as he was not part of the cast and just there to see the premiere.
