The Village is the latest work from one of, if not my favorite, directors M. Night Shyamalan. The movie comes out on the 30th and stars like William Hurt (<3 Duke Leto), Joaquin Phoenix, Sigourney Weaver, Adrien Brody, and newcomers like Bryce Howard (who looks pretty cute if you ask me).

Being the huge Shyamalan fan that I am, I can't wait to see this movie, particularly because we see once again the suspense thriller feel that holds true through all his movies. I love the importance of the color red in this film, just like in 99's The Sixth Sense. Cool.

Don't forget to check out the Sci-Fi Network special on Shyamalan and the production of The Village: The Buried Secret of M. Night Shyamalan, on July 18th. Info here.

I hope the twist end I read isn't true. If so, there are gonna be a lot of frustrated moviegoers.

Yeah, looking forward to this one. Hope it tops Sixth Sense...the last two didn't.

I watched the Sci-Fi thing last night on Night. to me, it was good, but some parts were just a little too cheesy to be real. it all seems either fucking unbelievably cool, or a big disappointment if what they said about him isn't true.

The sci-fi special was a mockumentary.

Bits are true, but fabricated for the most part.

Unbreakable is/was on tonight with the 7.5 minutes of The Village. I care a whole lot more about it now than I did when it first premiered.

Would you care to tell us why?

I'm looking forward to it ever since I saw the awesome trailer. I hope this starts in Europe soon.

The more I think about it the more I fucking love this movie. I personally think it's his best effort to date. It may still not be as successful as The Sixth Sense, or as loved by fans as Unbreakable, but some scenes in this movie are actually jaw dropping and mind blowing, and you can't say that about the fucking Bourne Supremacy.
