If anyone else follows the series it's worth catching.

Paul Greengrass took the series in a dour direction but the cinematography in this new one is outstanding. The documentarian view of the riots is intense and the camera work makes for one of the most thrilling vehicle chases I've ever seen. The script wasn't overly clever and the CSI tech jargon was cringe-inducing but the film overall is an enjoyable trip.

We're going to diverge a bit again here, Topeka.

I love the Bourne trilogy but found Jason Bourne to be pretty disappointed. I had hoped we'd get a Rocky Balboa or Rambo-esque epilogue but it felt unnecessary and lifeless.

Damon and Greengrass' direction were on point but the rest kind of garbage. Even the action didn't excite me and the camera felt extra-nauseating. Coincidence is all over the script and it layers in a pretty terrible "social media threatening peoples' privacy" subplot that has little to do with the main story.

Overall, I think the script was lazy and rushed and while I love Damon and this character it might be time to retire this series and move on.
