AUTOBOTS

(Returning characters)

    Optimus Prime
    Alt Mode: Peterbilt semi-truck.
Toy Bio: With the destruction of MEGATRON, OPTIMUS PRIME thought he was finally, after millions of years, at peace. Little did he know that the escape of STARSCREAM would draw dozens of new DECEPTICONS to Earth. The desire that burns brightest in his Spark is that the war will soon end. He is determined to see that end come, and so he works with his human comrades and the other AUTOBOTS to hunt the DECEPTICONS that have come to Earth, and destroy them, one by one.

(New Characters)

    Jetfire
    Alt mode: SR-71 Blackbird jet.
Toy Bio: Jetfire grew tired of war a long time ago. The reckless ambition of the Decepticons, and the senseless violence of their war sickened him, and so he left Cybertron to go into hiding. The form he eventually chose on Earth seemed appropriate for one who wished to remain unseen. He slumbered in peace for years. Now, reawakened by the arrival of the war on Earth, he decides once again to enter the fight - this time on the side of the Autobots, and this time to end it for good, whatever the cost.

    Sideswipe
    Alt Mode: Concept Corvette Stingray.
Toy Bio: Sideswipe was built to fight. He is sleek, fast, and accomplished in battle. Focusing on his enemies with absolute attention, his blades are a shining blur as he leaps through the air, twisting to avoid enemy fire. Converting to his vehicle to drive at blazing speed, he uses every trick in the book to get close to his opponent, and put his powerful swords to work.

    Arcee
Alt Mode: MV Agusta Motorcycle (pink)
Notes: In the film, she is apparently all three bikes with a singular personality. The toys have three separate names/personality bios.
Toy Bio: ARCEE jumped at the chance to join up with IRONHIDE and the other DECEPTICON hunters on Earth. She proved such an effective warrior that she was quickly give command of her own strike team, made up of robots similar to her in attitude and design. Together with the AUTOBOTS she leads, she stalks the DECEPTICONS in silence, creeping close enough to look them in the optics before she strikes.

    Chromia
Alt Mode: MV Agusta Motorcycle. (blue)
Toy Bio: CHROMIA is as tough as nails, and always spoiling for a fight. She's been friends with IRONHIDE for centuries, and their reunion on Earth was one of the high points of the war for both of them. Now they ???? side by side, hunting and destroying DECEPTICONS. Neither of them has ever been happier. The two robots make great partners, and she, along with her sisters, are an invaluable part of the team.

    Skids & Mudflap
Alt Modes: Chevy Beat & Chevy Trax.
Skids Toy Bio: Because he is slightly less hyperactive than his brother MUDFLAP, AUTOBOT SKIDS has always thought of himself as "the smart one." He likes to point this out at every opportunity. While MUDFLAP zips around like a maniac, AUTOBOT SKIDS prefers to impress his superiors among the AUTOBOT high command by behaving in a way he thinks of as mature, which usually involves talking nonstop about anything that occurs to him.
Mudflap Toy Bio: Young and eager, MUDFLAP has wanted to be a full-fledged warrior under the command of OPTIMUS PRIME for as long as he can remember. He and his twin brother AUTOBOT SKIDS traveled for years to Earth, just in the hopes of joining up with their idols. Being on Earth with OPTIMUS PRIME and the other heroes of the Great War is a dream come true.

    Jolt
    Alt Mode: Chevy Volt.
Toy Bio: JOLT loves to cause trouble. More than one group of DECEPTICONS has watched in confusion as JOLT, all alone, raced around them in circles, taunting them. They're not used to AUTOBOTS acting crazy. Little do they know that it really is just an act - part of a plan to lure his enemies in close where he can deliver a crippling blow with his electro-whips.

DECEPTICONS

(Returning characters)

    Megatron
    Alt Mode: Cybertronian tank.
Toy Bio: Rebuilt with parts cannibalized from other Decepticons, Megatron rises once again to lead his army. Though the AllSpark destroyed him once, he can now feel its power coursing through his circuitry. It calls him to seize his rightful place as ruler over the puny planet which on he was imprisoned and destroyed, and from which he will launch his conquest of the universe. Optimus Prime is all that stands in the way of victory, and the Autobot leader has done a poor job of hiding himself. At long last, Megatron knows exactly where his enemy is, and he has enough power to destroy him.

    Starscream
Alt Mode: F-22 Raptor. Now has Cybertronian style heiroglyphics tatooed on his body.
Toy Bio: The moment his sensor net registered Megatron going offline, Starscream knew the battle was over, and the Allspark lost. He converted to vehicle mode and boosted for outer space, hoping to buy enough time to rally the Decepticon survivors. Returning from Cybertron bearing the marks won during his reign over the Decepticon army, he is focused on conquest. With a new army behind him, he has the strength to pursue his own goals, and perhaps, when the time is right, bring Megatron back.

(New Characters)
    The Fallen
    Alt Mode: Cybertronian spaceship.
Toy Bio: For millennia, he has waited. Thousands of years have dragged by as he recruited proxies, one by one, to scour the cosmos for the artifact he required. Now he finds he must return to the primitive, flesh-slug infected planet on which his quest began. Nothing will stand in his way this time. If need be, he will scour the surface of this disgusting world clean in the fire of his rage, and search through the blasted rubble for that which he seeks.

    Soundwave
    Alt Mode: Cybertronian style Satellite.
Toy Bio: Stationed in orbit above Earth, Soundwave swiftly taps into every satellite within range. Within minutes, communications, data traffic, weather information, and high-resolution spy photography flood his sensor net. The spill of data fills him with pleasure, and one by one, the humans' systems come under his complete control. From his seat on high, he is in a position to control the destiny of mankind without their knowledge... or to run their civilization into the ground.

    Ravage
Alt mode: Cybertronian styled re-entry mode similar to the "comet" protoform modes seen in the first film.
Toy Bio: Bulleting down through the atmosphere at better than 15 times the speed of sound, RAVAGE considers the data he has already amassed on the small, soft creatures that inhabit this planet. They seem weak and fragile, yet they are the ones that destroyed MEGATRON. That is a fact he will keep in mind as he penetrates their most sensitive installation. Against such an unpredictable enemy, stealth will be his watchword.

    Sideways
    Alt Mode: Audi R8
Toy Bio: Back on CYBERTRON, SIDEWAYS was a simple courier who avoided combat at all costs. He tried to always remain in the shadow of larger DECEPTICONS, where the AUTOBOTS might not notice him. On Earth, he's keeping much the same practice. He teamed up with DEMOLISHOR early on, and hopes that if the AUTOBOTS find them, the big CONSTRUCTICON can keep him safe.
    CG Render - Robot Mode

    Grindor
    Alt Mode: Pave Low Helicopter.
Notes: Is not Blackout revived. Instead they are reusing the CG model for a new character. Seen with Starscream & Megatron battling Optimus in the ShoWest and Theatrical trailers.
Toy Bio: GRINDOR is a born soldier. He is both a highly talented fighter, and an instinctive strategist. Every moment of a battle is laid out in his head before the first shot is ever fired. He is so talented at anticipating his enemy's moves that he is almost never surprised. Whenever he can, he ensures himself a place at the direct center of a fight so that he can bring his powerful weaponry to bear on the AUTOBOTS around him, destroying as many as he can as quickly as possible.

    Alice
Is a "Pretender", a transformer using a human shell as a disguise. The inner robot is best described as a hybrid of the Frenzy robot design from the first movie. The Pretender Transformer will have an arm that transforms into an energy weapon, a long tongue, and a scanning tenticle. Actress Isabel Lucas plays the part of the human disguise.
    On set robot prop

    Wheelie
Alt Mode: Remote control toy truck.
Toy Bio: Autobot Wheelie never really wanted to be a Decepticon. It's just that, when people start yelling at him, he tends to do whatever they say. He's easily startled, and simple to scare. His tiny size makes him an ideal spy, and even though he doesn't like or agree with the Decepticons, they scare him so much he doesn't know what to do except obey.
    Toy card & bio

    Scalpel aka The Doctor
    Alt mode: Microscope
Toy Bio: Scalpel has a massive database of anatomical data for millions of creatures across the universe. He can disassemble anything that doesn't struggle too much in a matter of minutes, and usually puts it back together with only a few parts in the wrong place. He serves as medic to the Decepticon army, but most Decepticons prefer to suffer in silence than allow Scalpel to work on them.

    Demolishor
    Alt Mode: Terex RH400 Excavator
Toy Bio: DEMOLISHOR isn't very bright, but he knows when to fight, and when to run and hide. Arriving on Earth to find Megatron destroyed, hiding seemed like the best option. Since then, he's taken a few smaller Decepticons under his protection, and built quite a little community. It hasn't been easy hiding among the humans that creep like a disease over this planet, but he and his companions are content until a new Decepticon leader emerges to guide them back to glory.

    The Constructicons include:

    Alt Mode: Terex RH400 Excavator
Notes: Same body type/model as Demolishor but is red with white letters/stripes on the excavator mode.

    Long Haul (Right leg component.)
Alt Mode: Caterpillar 773B Dump Truck
Toy Bio: LONG HAUL is too bitter to be an effective soldier on his own. Despite the fact that he is part of one of the most destructive and terrifying DECEPTICON squads of all time, he is too often treated as little more than a cargo hauler. Other DECEPTICONS sling their gear into his bed without a second thought, and order him to carry it around for them. Rather than confront them, he'd rather grumble about it privately, then stop on the way to destroy whatever he's been given responsibility for.
    Concept art
    Concept art - larger
    CG model

    Mix Master (Head/Torso component.)
    Alt Mode: Mack Cement Mixer
Toy Bio: Resident chemist and explosives expert for the elite among the DECEPTICONS, MIXMASTER has spent his entire life learning all there is to know about chemical interaction. He can make thousands of poisons, explosives and deadly gasses from the materials around him. The other DECEPTICONS rely on him to fashion powerful warheads for their missiles, and dangerous venoms in which to coat their blades.
Voyager Class toy - Robot mode
Voyager class toy - truck mode
    Concept Art

    Rampage (Left leg component.)
    Alt Mode: Caterpillar D9L Bulldozer
Toy Bio: The stink of diesel fumes and hot tar follows RAMPAGE wherever he goes. His treads are packed with metal shards stripped from his victims and the countless scratches covering his chassis are testament to hundreds of brutal battles. He lives to pound his enemies into submission and thinks of little else. His idea of beauty is the sun glinting off the raw edges of shredded Autobot armor.
Notes: There is another robot using the same CG model as Rampage but is red and does not form part of Devastator. He is seen fighting Bumblebee in the trailers.

:siren: TRANSFORMERS 2 TREATMENT IS REAL

source: IESB.net

Some more interesting news on the Transformers 2 front. The Treatment that has been going around and thought to be fake turns out is actually legit. Michael Bay's webmaster, "Nelson" has confirmed the Treatment is real and was pitched by a Hollywood screenwriter but will not be used.

IESB.net now has the full treatment available for download:

Transformers 2 Treatment.pdf

In other news, writers Ehren Kruger, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci have been officially signed on. The article also reports director Michael Bay has started pulling together digital pre-visualization designs of Transformers that didn't make it into the first film.

Yeah, that was a good read. The thing that struck while reading this was that whoever wrote it seemed to really know his TF stuff. The spirit of the original material really showed through this. There's all sorts of stuff inspired from the originals that I liked, the explanation about the Allspark giving life but the Creation Matrix needed to give a soul. Perfect. The Nemesis, The Matrix being handed down from leader to leader, Soundwave being an extremely loyal Megatron follower and Starscream leading his own faction/brigade. Starscream and Megatron battling it out for Decepticon sepremancy. All good stuff.

Overall I thought there may be too much stuff going on but I still like the epic feeling it has and even though this is not being used I hope they end up using some of the ideas proposed from it. My biggest complaint on this where's Barricade? I demand more Barricade for the sequel! :XD:

The new writer, Ehren Kruger is supposedly a huge TF fan. Maybe he was the one who pitched this story? With as fast as things seem to be moving, hell it probably won't be long before new TF designs start leaking out. Fun times.

Abandoned plot idea:

love triangle between Sam, Mikela and Bumblebee which would feature a rare robot on girl sex scene.

I for one petition to bring this element back to the sequel.

Is there a possibility, at some point during the movie, for her to run into a dozen tentacled evil monster? We can then throw a live action hentai scene in there with it.

Rumour that could become official very soon: Transformers 2 and 3 being filmed back to back with 2 being a cliffhanger that flows into 3. I don't know how much I like this. Matrix did it and it sucked. Pirates did it and those two sucked.

The only reason I could have faith is:
a. Steven Spielberg can do no wrong in my jaded opinion.

b. From what i read in that stript treatment, I FUCKING LOVE the expansion of the mythology in 2 and it should lead to a great climax.

c. Lets say the movie absolutely sucks balls we're going to see hot women, machines go fast and TRANSFORM INTO GIANT FUCKING ROBOTS THAT BLOW SHIT UP AND BEAT THE FUCKING SHIT OUT OF ONE ANOTHER.

For people who think the first movie is that anyway (a bad movie that's fun to watch), I think there's no issue at all but I find that the more I watch it, the more I think it's one of the best pure blockbusters in years and sets up what could be a GREAT series with good characters, great story and unreal action (obviously).

Michael Bay says: More Transformers in Transformers 2!

QUOTE: I want to thank Nelson for running such a good site!

For the millions of viewers that logged on this year I want to thank you for the support. Transformers 2 will be coming soon. The new robots are really really unique and there are a lot of them this time.

Robert Orci has been dropping various comments about the TF sequel over at the Don Murphy boards. Tidbits include:

• Starscream getting more screentime and dialogue.
• Decepticons getting more screentime and scenes to themselves.
• Optimus Prime being the spotlight but others will be given chance to shine.
• The core cast and their looks have been decided on but doesn't rule out adding a character or two.
• The tone of the film to be more serious than the first, more science fiction-y but still have some humor.
• Praises Michael Bay's efforts to keep the project active and moving along during the writer's strike.

Complete transcript of all the questions Orci's answered so far over at Seibertron.com

There were also a few reports this week about sightings of the Transformer vehicles (Prime, Ironhide, Ratchet & Barricade) being transported. So, they're probably getting ready to start filming soon.

And so it begins: Transformers 2 starts filming in Bethlehem, PA

Image
The filmmakers transform it into a fictional Chinese city populated by people from the Lehigh Valley.

''This is not Bethlehem or the Valley's first experience with filmmaking, but this is a whole other level,'' Mayor John Callahan said Thursday of the project, a DreamWorks production directed by Michael Bay.

The movie crew will film in Bethlehem during the first week of June and will use the blast furnaces as the scene's backdrop, Callahan said. ''It's going to bring a tremendous amount of excitement to the city,'' especially for any locals who nab walk-on roles, he added.

According to an announcement from Heery Casting of Philadelphia, the filmmakers hope to cast local ''Asian men and women, boys and girls, ages 7 [to] 65'' as paid extras in the movie. In particular, the crew hopes to recruit extras of Asian descent who have military backgrounds.

Callahan said he hasn't seen the ''Transformers 2'' script, but he's been assured this will be ''an important scene for this movie.''

The first public confirmation of the June filming came from Diane Heery of Heery Casting, who contacted The Morning Call to publicize the casting call for Asian extras. The company's Web site also posted the announcement Wednesday.

Ethnically, Bethlehem makes a strange stand-in for China. Of the city's population of 72,500, only about 2.5 percent is Asian, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Across Lehigh and Northampton counties, the percentage is about 2.4.

The percentage of local residents who can pass for Chinese is probably even smaller, because the Census classification of ''Asian'' includes Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans and others from all over the continent.

The Bethlehem Steel site was what drew Bay's crew, Callahan said. The Greater Philadelphia Film Office recommended it as a unique place to film, and when the crew came to visit, ''they quickly fell in love with the site,'' Callahan said.

Transformers 2 News

With a little more than a year away until its debut, the buzz is building about the sequel to 2007’s hit movie Transformers.

Transformers 2 — subtitled Revenge of the Fallen — began shooting on June 2nd in Bethlehem, PA. While details of the movie’s plot a closely-guarded secret, expect a key character from the first movie to make a dramatic comeback and attempt to settle a score.

Cast members, Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson will reprise their roles, and Rainn Wilson from NBC’s The Office, will also join the cast.

Bethlehem Call Sheet Reveals TFII Revelations

Thanks to an anonymous source, I have a scan of the call sheet used on Wednesday June 4th for the Bethlehem Steel shoot. A call sheet is used to direct the cast and other crews to where they need to be, when and what for. It usually includes a breakdown of cast members participating in a scene, brief description of the scene and many other details.

[spoil]
There have been rumors about who was at Bethlehem Steel to shoot for the film. Was Shia or Fox there, who else was there, what did the cars do, which where Transformers, which where not. Now this is just for Wednesday but not a reach to infer this went for the other days to.

From the sheet, the movie is given the code title of E7². From the comments,
around the Bethlehem base camp there where "E7" signs which apparently are reused at each location. The shoot is scheduled to go 84 days, not including days off or the built-in hiatus.

Bethlehem Steel's Role

Based on the scene descriptions, the role of the factory is a Shanghai, China steel factory. The scenes describe action and vehicle chases occurring along a "Shanghai Steel Yard" and "Shanghai Side Street". The scene is the Autobots, SAS and Lennox's team chasing after Decepticon Audi R8. What the air attacks are about is not on the call sheets but I imagine they are Decepticons.

Also the Sands Bethworks, a casino on the otherside of the steel factory, was used for an exterior shot of Bumblebee and the Ice Cream truck for below describe next stop in Transformers II filming.

Bethlehem Steel Human Cast

The cast at Bethlehem Steel was Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Matthew Marsden and Andrew Howard. Josh and Tyrese was already confirmed (pics here and here). The news of Marsden's casting as SAS Graham was just out this week, didn't know he had already started shooting.

A new addition is Ramon Rodriguez, (The Wire) who was cast as "Leo" and based on being number five on the call sheet, I am guessing he is Spike's college roommate.

Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox did not film at the site. The call sheet has multiple gaps in the cast numbering which simply suggests that are more principle cast members, its just they didn't work on the scenes on the sheet. It appears the first 12 numbers in the count represents the "core" cast for the movie. One is Shia LaBeouf, 2 is Megan Fox, 3 is Josh Duhamel, 8 is Tyrese Gibson, and 12 is Matthew Marsden. Of note is the gap for 4 (John Turturro), 6 and 7 (one of them is Jon Voight) and 9 - 11. Could some of those be the rumored casting of Nina Dobrev or Aaron Hill?

Vehicles Used

As far as vehicles used the three wheeled motorcycles, an Ice Cream Truck, Bumblebee (not in Shanghai), Ironhide, 3 NEST Hummers, 2 Trikes (for kids I think), Go-Kart, 10 Shanghai dressed police vehicles, Audi R8 and a NEST semi. Also a Chinese Police helicopter and 2 Blackhawks all equipped with spotlights.

Smithsonian Air and Space Museum

Production's location is the Smithsonian Air and Space Muesum. The schedule is June 5 to Sunday June 6. The cast will include Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, John Turturro and Ramon Rodriguez. Based on the scenes it appears they are hunting for something Decepticon related at the museum after hours involving the SR-71 Blackbird (with a Decepticon insignia) that is there.

There is also a mention of "Splinter". I am not sure if that is a TF or an Autobot artifact for the film. As someone in the comments noted, this could be the piece of the All Spark that Prime removed from Megatron at the end of the movie.

Transformers

Known Transformers at the sites was Ironhide and Bumblebee (at the Smithsonian). Additional NEW Transformers from what I can tell is Arcee (the motorcycles), The Twins (the Ice Cream Truck), Stinger (a Porsche I think), unknown Decepticon (Audi R8), Wheels or Wheelbot (the Go-Kart?), Jetfire (the Blackbird) and a "Constructicon Earth Mover".

The rumors have been around for a while that the Constructicons and therefore Devastator could appear in this movie. Considering a theme of merging Transformers, this seems to be confirmation of that rumor.

A final note is that for the first movie Bay did use placeholder names for some of the TF cast until a final determination was made. However in pretty much all of them the names became final. The only exception was Devastator instead of Brawl.

Summary

Locations: Shanghai, China and the Air & Space Museum in Washington, DC

New Transformers: Arcee, The Twins, Stinger, Unknown Decepticon Audi R8, Wheels, Jetfire, and Constructicons
Alt Modes: Motorcycles, Ice Cream truck, Blackbird, Audi R8, Go-Kart, and Earth Mover

New Human Cast: Ramon Rodriguez (Leo)

From Sci-fi Wire: Co-writer Roberto Orci confirms Soundwave and says the film is to be more science fiction-ish with more TF's.
Transformers 2 Details Revealed

Roberto Orci, co-writer of Michael Bay's upcoming sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, told SCI FI Wire that the movie will feature more of the giant robots and more of a science fiction storyline.

"The humor will be similar, but the structure of the movie is a little bit more like many sequels, which is, the stakes are a little higher and the tone is a bit more sci-fi," Orci said in an interview at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour in Beverly Hills, Calif., on July 14. "It's got a little more of a sci-fi element. ... The bad guys are little more coherent in terms of what their plan is and what they're attempting to do. So it feels like more of a sci-fi battle."

The sequel will also offer a better balance between humans and robots, added Orci, who was promoting his upcoming Fox SF series, Fringe. "Maybe there's less humans," he said. "The first movie was predicated on the structure of a mystery, at which point, at the midpoint, the Transformers are revealed. This movie is structured differently in that you now know there are Transformers in the world, and therefore you can get right to them. As a result, there's kind of more Transformers throughout the movie."

Orci, who co-wrote the first movie and the sequel with partner Alex Kurtzman, remained coy about what new Transformers audiences will see. Arcee, the female Autobot who transforms into a motorcycle, "was in an early draft of the first movie, and she may make an appearance," he said. "We'll see."

But expect to see Soundwave, the Decepticon who was cut out of the first film. "Yes," Orci said. "Soundwave's in it." It's unclear whether he will transform into a tape deck, as in previous incarnations, or into something else.

Orci also declined to comment on rumors that the film will spend a bit more time on the Transformer homeworld of Cybertron.

But Orci promised that fans won't be disappointed. "If you liked the first one, you'll like this one," he said. "But if you were a genuine fan of what Transformers was and felt a little bit left behind by the first one, I think this one's going to be more for you." Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is in production now with an eye to a June 26, 2009, release.

It’s about being away from home. It’s a few years later and Sam is going to finally go to college and he’s going to face being away from home just as the Autobots are having to deal with being away from Cybertron.

Megan Fox and 90120 wigga Brian Austin Green are rumored to be splitting. My thing with Megan Fox is I don't believe her early 20's age and not really into aftermarket accessories: hair extensions, fake eye lashes, blue eye contacts, softball sized-implants, etc. With that said, Fox looks pretty cool in the vintage Star Wars shirt and lowriders.

The new ho: It was also reported that Megan Fox, who has a much larger presence in this film, asked that no other "hot brunette" be cast. So instead we get the quasi-blonde Isabel Lucas and I guess not-hot brunette Nina Dobrev. As you can see below, some on-set shots of Isabel getting sprayed on by BumbleBee with some green stuff.

We know quite a bit so far about the movie thanks in part to the hidden call-sheet report report in one of this thread's previous posts. According to which there is an apparent appearance of Devastator

What a dumb ass.

By the way I do like the new look they're giving to Bumblebee. He looks more sleekish and it's nice to see there will definitely be more Autobots.

Spy report by "MACHETTE" @ LatinoReview.com featuring a crane photograph which could be a Construction.
Image

It's been a while but I'm back with some pics you might like to see. I came across the set for the "Transformers" last night. They were filming a scene where three Dark SUV's come speeding up to what I can only imagine is one of The Transformers.

It looked like the Crane is the Transformer transformed into its vehicle form. I don't remember there being a Construction Crane, but wasn't there some Constructicons once in the cartoon?

I wish I could have gotten better pictures, but you can barely see one of the SUV's being crushed by the crane. Anyway, the light that was shining on the crane is supposed to be a spotlight from a helicopter. I heard someone say that there was a helicopter taking aerial shots earlier.

comicbookresources.com has a report about the comicbook transformer known as The Fallen (wiki), which could be the titular character in Revenge of the Fallen as speculated when the title was announced.
Image

"The cool thing about having the screenplay and being able to work farther out this time than we could last time is that we can take what's happening in movie two and not only tie it to the first movie, but also with the 'Reign of Starscream' prequel and the next prequel and really make it into one huge storyline.

We could pick up on plot points from 'Reign of Starscream' and hints of what's happening in movie two and really tie it all together. Second movies are always nicer because everybody relaxes a bit on how far out they'll let you see things," IDW Publisher and Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall said.

The writer (Simon Furman) added that the threads introduced in "The 13" will eventually payoff in current series and plots and possibly elsewhere within the Transformers family of media. "It's interesting that the second movie is using this character called the Fallen, which is a character that we created back in the Dreamwave days for this big series called 'The Dark Ages' which tapped into what had gone before.

transformerslive has Tranformers 2 San Pedra California filming reports & photographs. Including the Ice Cream Truck transformer(s). :?

In the comments section there is the idea - based on the various photographs - that there are two Ice Cream Trucks, which then are re-scanned into the Chevy Beat and Chevy Trax concept cars.

Thanks to Gettodeath for providing the pictures below taken Saturday at San Pedro, CA where Transformers 2 was filming. They show Optimus Prime, the mysterious Ice Cream Truck, Ironhide and NEST vehicles.

Gettodeath suggests that Stinger and Wheels are the two Transformers that form the ice cream truck. Since their alt modes are not even close to being verified, it’s actually a pretty good theory since both TFs are on the Bethlehem call sheet.

MTV has an interview with the writers for Transformers: Destiny, the five part mini-series prequel comic. They confirm that "The Fallen" is indeed the new villain of TF2. :what:

QUOTE: "[We're going to] explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the movie — as well as expand on the 'Reign of Starscream' story that we're doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be," explained writer Chris Mowry, who partners on the book with artist Alex Milne. "The next movie starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand."

Michael Bay comments on the status of RoTF following Shia LeBeouf's car accident injury:

QUOTE: The car crash with Shia is unexpected, but we are still filming. The movie has not shut down - there is plenty to do without Shia. The shooting is also going great - I'm having a blast making this movie! Shia will be back soon and we wish all wish him a fast recovery.

TFW2005 has more set photos. several of the Transformers vehicle props can be seen, the Ice Cream Truck, the Corvette Concept, and our first look at the Audi R8.

Quote:
Doctors have told Shia LaBeouf they may have to amputate one of his injured fingers, Star has learned exclusively.

The young star, now working on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is likely to lose the pinky on his left hand, a source on the movie set says.

"Shia called producers yesterday and told them," the source on the set in Alamogordo, N.M. says. "It's really thrown the movie into turmoil."

Shia, 21, mangled his hand when his SUV rolled over twice in a July 27 accident in West Hollywood. He was cited for DUI although cops say they do not believe the accident was his fault.

A request for comment from Shia's rep was not answered at press time.

I don't really know what's all that funny about someone losing an appendage. I don't care how big an idiot Shia is portrayed by talking heads, near fatal car accidents to young people don't fall under 'high comedy' to me.

The saddest part about the media is that it categorizes people. I don't care what walk of life you're in, most people ARE big douches at the age of 21; especially if you're touted as the "next Tom Hanks" and you're starring in summer blockbusters with legendary filmmakers. He's just a talented stupid kid with a drinking problem - sounds a lot like dozens of people you know or knew, the difference being they're not followed around by cameras.

Jalopnik.com has more on the Concept Corvette which may or may not be next gen Corvette. The Concept is meant to combine previous design elements into one car, most notably the 1970's Stingray. GM needs to get rid of the pop-up headlamps.

Image
There's been much speculation of late on the gleaming silver "Corvette-like" concept car spotted on the set of the new Transformers movie. Some outlets have incorrectly asserted the concept is a potential design for a next-generation C7 Corvette.

They're wrong. Oh, it's a Corvette, but our well-placed sources tell us the concept, which we've revealed in an exclusive shot of the clay concept above, is GM's Corvette Centennial Design Concept. We expect to see it revealed early next year, months before it debuts on the silver screen in Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.
CHUD.com reports that Megatron returns with a new tank ALT mode. Hopefully Megatron will get downsized to proper scale and maybe even resemble the classic Megatron.

Also Chud re-confirms MTV confirming Chud's previous report that The Fallen is indeed the main villian.
If the current incarnation of the script follows the beats of a previous incarnation (which did not feature The Fallen), Megatron may be getting brought back by the Autobots, who need him to conquer the new menace. But I've learned that this time he won't be that weird alien jet. This time he's a tank.

... the villain in Transformers 2 is The Fallen, the Satan equivalent Transformer from the recent comic books.

Exactly why I wasn't too enamored with the idea of The Fallen being brought into the sequel. One movie in and they're already going to sweep aside the Autobot/Decepticon conflict so they can team up to fight a common foe? I was never a big fan of that concept in the comics and I'm not too keen on it possibly being the case here. Such alliances seem so pointless since at the end of the day they will just be enemies again.

Also if the Fallen character is anything like the character in comics then it's probably the first hint that the writers might be thinking of bringing Unicron into the equation in a third movie maybe. In the comics, The Fallen was a Unicron follower trying to bring about his return. Nothing against Unicron but it's the same situation as with The Fallen, the Autobots and Decepticons would have to team up to stop a common menace.

Peter Cullen begins voice work on ROTF:
source: Readingeagle.com

And he's logging time in a studio to record his lines as Optimus Prime for the "Transformers" sequel, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

"I have started," Cullen said. "I worked with Michael a few weeks ago and we did some of the opening dialogue, the opening speech and then a couple of scenes with Shia LaBeouf. Shia wasn't there, of course. I just worked from the script."

So what happens in the sequel?

"They're very secretive about the story," he said. "I only know the lines I've read, and I'm not allowed to disclose any of those. But the amount of success that 'Transformers' had on a financial level is providing a lot more screen time for Optimus Prime. It's very expensive to do all these robot characters because of the 10,000 moving parts.

"Thankfully we were a hit, so there's 'Transformers 2' and maybe 'Transformers 3.' I think 'Transformers 2' is going to be an incredible, incredible picture. I can see the excitement in the faces of the people involved, and it generates quite a bit of excitement in me too."

Speculation going around is that blue/purple Chevy Volt could possibly be Soundwave.

Going on no more than the last movie, I would say that the Volt is an autobot.

Generally the Autobots were all GM products, while the Decepticons were a mix up. The lone car being a Ford. (I can't remember what Bonecrusher was, I know it was a truck).

From phillyfilmgirl @ TFW2005:

Amatuer recorded video footage of a scene from RoTF involving Sam making a phone call to Mikaela. The conversation reveals a plot point about Sam now starting to see the same symbols his great, great grandfather saw after Megatron zapped him in the first film.

QUOTE: Mikaela, my great, great grandfather, remember I told you about him? Mikaela, ok my great great grandfather went on this artic mission, right? And saw Megatron. About time some designs start leaking for this.

More robot modes design pics have leaked (albeit in small and crappy quality) from SuperHeroHype Boards

Notice the robot mode for the Audi R8 bears a striking resemblance to a certain other Decepticon carbot from the first film. I guess Barricade decided to ditch his Mustang Saleen cop form. :(
