'Nicklogan' sent Superhero Hype! this exclusive look at a maquette of The Thing which was on display at the recent International Make Up Artist Trade Show in Pasadena, where it was announced that the team who worked on the Hellboy special effects would also be creating The Thing in Fantastic Four.

It is possible that the character in the film will look exactly, somewhat, or not at all like the maquette shown. Tim Story is directing the Marvel adaptation at 20th Century Fox for a July 1, 2005 release date. No cast has been announced yet.

USA Today has published this first picture of Jessica Alba as Sue Storm online, plus we've added five additional scans of the characters shown in today's newspaper, from 20th Century Fox's anticipated Fantastic Four adaptation. Here's how they describe the four members:

• Jessica Alba, 23, star of TV's Dark Angel, is Sue Storm, also known as the Invisible Woman, who has a romance with Reed.

• Welshman Ioan Gruffudd, 30, goes from Lancelot in King Arthur to scientist Reed Richards, whose Mr. Fantastic has the ability to stretch.

• Chris Evans, 23, currently seen in Cellular, is Sue's bro Johnny, a cocky pilot who turns up the heat as the Human Torch.

• The most recognizable face is also the most covered. Veteran actor Michael Chiklis, 41, of TV's The Shield, will grumble his way through the role of Ben Grimm, aka the Thing, a boulder-bodied mound of power whose battle cry is "It's clobberin' time!"

I use to follow the fantastic four comics when i was a wee child and i dont think that dr doom was on the ship but i do know that stretch and doom were partners back in the day or are related somehow i dont remember. But having dr doom on the ship makes the movie much easier to follow for peeps that dont read the comics.

I really wish this movie could be good but there are so many things that seem silly about it. Doom's voice, Alba's acting, the comedy lines. It just seems like Marvel is going down the shitter. God, please don't fuck up Spidey 3.
