They could always pull some of that X-Men the Last Stand Professor X and Magneto youth magic. Although it looked sort of creepy there.

It's official, Karen Allen is returning as Marion Ravenwood in Indiana Jones 4. Word came straight from Harrison and Spielberg via satellite at Comic-Con.

Well,

After 6 years surfing this site, I have finally become a member. I tried to register during the embargo a few years back, and am really glad to finally jump in as a member of your community. So as my first post, which nobody has addressed...

Has anyone realized ( and this is related to the current script plot rumors going around, and the fact that NOTHING is done by chance with these guys) that the code on the crate on the Official Indy homepage is the code slapped onto the Ark's crate at the end of Raiders? Hmmm, Property of Professor Jones, you say?

"Warehouse?... WHAT warehouse?!"

Cheers :)

To me that clip just confirmed a lot. "We are all one big happy family" and "we took a big risk with casting you (LeBeouf)".

Actually, it is the same except the 5 and the 7 are reversed. I hope some moron didn't screw that up when they put that website together. Check out the screens I took below:

I was thinking about this film in context with every rumor we've heard, and I wonder if they would do something like : INDIANA JONES AND THE PROTECTORS OF THE LOST ARK?

The only thing that doesn't really fit is the Mayan temple we've seen.

Ahhh...BUT, Every Indy film has three parts...

1.) "Opening adventure"- unrelated more or less to the overall plot ( save maybe Last Crusade and the young Indy set-up~~as for Temple, I don't count the introduction of Shorty and Willy as really "part" of that adventure but instead their introduction. I don't care who was driving the car).

2.) "The quest"- What artifact we're pursuing throughout the majority of the film.

3.) "The climax"- How it all wraps up.

Being a Mayan temple, and not related to the Ark legend, my guess is it will be the opening Adventure.

P.S.- That is the BEST title I've heard yet. Classic Indy. That would be cool. I am really thinking the Ark will be revisited for this movie. It's all just too coincidental with the casting of key players not only who were so integral to the first film, but also with regard to thier relationship with the Ark, either by direct obsession ( Abner) or by unfortunate proxy (Marion).

Cheers,

NYA

The adventures at the beginning of Raiders and Last Crusade are more separate from the overall story than the opening bits of Doom. Drop the Hovitos and young Indy scenes, begin with Indy teaching or whatever and you don't lose much from that story besides some kickass intros. Only thing is the relationship between Indy and Belloq, which is intro'd pretty well in Raiders. TOD however not only introduces the characters but begins the story, transferring from Shanghai to India. Those Shanghai scenes are pretty essential. I've always felt that we missed the adventure in TOD of Indy acquiring Nerhachi.

Frank Darabont already revealed some time ago what Indy will be after in the main quest and it's not the Ark. Personally I suspect Indy will be searching for the Ark at the beginning of the movie, but ultimately he'll find Abner Ravenwood instead. The main characters finding and keeping the Ark would be too problematic, as it is pretended Indiana Jones lives in the same world with the same history as we know. It was taken away in the finale of Raiders precisely for this reason.

Anyone else would prefer that the movie was called "Raiders of ...." or something original in that style, instead of the IJ& formula used for the last two films, all computer games, books etc.?

True, though they dropped Frank Darabont and his script. So really, he's a null-void when it comes to having any information at this point. This leaves the door open for a new exploration of the franchise, it's history and it's artifact gathering.

They dropped Darabont's script, but the main ideas for the story always came from Lucas (and presumebly Spielberg too). The MacGuffin for the fourth movie is an idea Lucas had for years (he keeps saying that in interviews), he doesn't invent a new one for every newly hired screenwriter.

man she seems to be really happy (to be working again? ;)), what has she been doing all these years?

i must say she looks real good for her age. given her passing resemblance to Margot Kidder ways back, i thought she'd be a mess like her now.

i really hope LeBouf doesnt suck in this. you've got a tried and true formula here and it would be beyond nasty if he ruins it.

Well, Allen was a complete mess a decade ago. Even her voice was all screwed up, like an old alcoholic's (Although maybe it was just a temporary condition, I saw her only in one role then). Anyway, her present "fresh" looks are definetly not the effects of natural aging. At the very least, she got rid of all the awful wrinkles from her face. The heir is also obviously all made for the new Indy. I hope that in the movie she won't keep stroking it like she wasn't comfortable with it, like she did in the comic-con footage.

From Slashfilm:

Six different titles for Indy 4 have been registered with the MPAA:

• Indiana Jones and the City of Gods
• Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds
• Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth
• Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
• Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold
• Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant

I kinda like the Fourth Corner of the Earth one.

Shia LeBeouf just announced on the MTV Video Music Awards 2007 that title of the new film is:

[align=center]:siren:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull[/align]

The crowd was like "who gives a shit". LeBeouf was presenting a award to Fergie who wasn't even there. Ludicris was supposed to accept the award but didn't even bother going on stage.

Not my favorite title from the rumor list, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. The Mayan crystal skulls seem cool, but I can't help but wonder if the story is taking the same route as the Kali/Shankara stones.

No worse than "The Phantom Menace" no better than any of the other Lucas-esque titles of other films.

Fits in well I guess.

INDIANA JONES IV PLOT SPOILERS[/align]

sources: edmondsun.com (Removed), aicn.com (Removed)

New Indiana Jones film has Edmond actor

    James Coburn
    The Edmond Sun

EDMOND — Tyler Nelson’s dancing talent has landed him a part in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”

The fourth film in the Indiana Jones saga will once again star Harrison Ford and is produced and directed by Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Release of the film is expected during the week of Memorial Day, according to Lucasfilm.

The 23-year-old actor and dancer is the son of Theresa and Dr. David Nelson of Edmond. He now lives in Los Angeles and also appears in an upcoming movie with Brad Pitt.

“He has demonstrated that he is tenacious once setting a goal. He loves the process of mastering a new talent,” Theresa Nelson said.

What Tyler understands about the Indiana Jones movie is based on his own scenes that were filmed during the first week of September. Tyler plays a Russian soldier. Only the lead actors were ever given scripts, so Tyler still doesn’t know the entire plot.

“Apparently, the Soviet Army was searching for a crucifix skull in the jungles of South America and Indiana Jones was searching, as well,” Tyler said.

The Russian Army tries blackmailing Indiana Jones to help them find the crystal skull by “threatening to kill Karen, his old flame from the Lost Ark.”

Actress Karen Allen of “Raiders of the Lost Ark” fame returns to play Jones’ love interest Marion Ravenwood. Cate Blanchett was cast as the Russian interrogator.

“We took Indiana Jones hostage and managed to find the skull,” Tyler said.

Afterward, Tyler and the other Russian soldiers rejoice in the jungle by wildly dancing and singing to Russian balalaika folk music beside a roaring campfire.

His ability to perform classical Russian dances landed him in the movie. Professional opportunities opened for Nelson after graduating from Russia’s Kirov Academy and studying with the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow a few years ago.

“They were filming us outside of a tent dancing and then turned the camera inside the tent,” Tyler explained his scene. “I saw Harrison Ford strapped in a chair being interrogated. I started to gather they were holding this big crystal-looking thing in the tent and heard someone mention a crucifix skull.”

In the movie, Indiana actor Shia LaBeouf plays Indiana Jones’ son. Jones learns of this and falls in love with Ravenwood again, Tyler said.

“After we did the first take, Steven Spielberg came up to us and shook our hands and said that we were great,” Tyler said.

Spielberg’s smile and easygoing personality puts actors at ease.

“He’s subtly suggesting things so actors can do it on their own and not just follow blindly,” Tyler said.

Was in Italy when the title broke. It left me a little underwhelmed. That little blurb from Tyler Nelson doesn't get me all excited either. I'll still wait to see how the movie turns out, it's Indy after all, I'm not going to get pissy about a title and a partial synopsis.

Lucas talks a bit about Indy 4: (tvguide.com)

TV Guide: Speaking of friends working together... you and Steven Spielberg — how's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull going?

Lucas: "Very well. Very well indeed."

TV Guide: Were you disappointed about Sean Connery not coming out of retirement to play Indy's father?

Lucas: "No, in the end, it turned out better. In the beginning, he was just in a little bit of it, and I think with the strength of Sean Connery, people would've wanted him to go all the way through the whole thing, and the story really didn't work that way. And so I think there would've been some disappointment that [his character] dropped out partway through the movie. By having somebody else fill that role, you lose him without any regret, so to speak, even though we got a great actor to play the part. And I mean, he's not his father, so it's much easier...."

TV Guide: You mean [the other actor] is not playing Indy's father?

Lucas: "That's right. It's just a completely different character, so you're not invested in him in any way. The fact that that character, after the first part of the movie, isn't needed doesn't become a problem. Whereas I think with the scene we had, where [Indy] says goodbye to his dad, everybody was, "Wait a minute! Isn't he coming back?" So in the end, I think it turned out for the best. Sean just retired and he wants to stay retired, and I understand that. [Laughs] I think he just said, "Look, I've done it, I've done it." He was very tempted, you know, and we talked for a long time. But in the end, he just said, "Eh, I'm playing golf.""

TV Guide: Anything about the film that's been out there, wrong Internet buzz, that you want to correct?

Lucas: "Well, I don't really read the Internet buzz."

TV Guide: Probably healthy.

Lucas: "Yeah, I don't get involved in all that. A film is what it is. And you know, I think it's turned out well. It's very funny, it's very exciting, and it's everything that the other ones were. I can't wait to see it! [Laughs]"

John Williams will start work on Indy 4 in October (theotherpaper):

The Other Paper: What’s the current project you’re working on?

Williams: "Well, I just actually put pen down on a viola concerto. And I will be doing a week for the New York Philharmonic here, and then I’ll be coming out to Columbus for one day and I’ll be looking forward to meeting the orchestra. I think they’ll be great. And then I’ll be home in California the first of October to start on the next Indiana Jones."

The Other Paper: Are you just going to incorporate music from the earlier movies, or are you writing any new melodies?

Williams: "I’ll be able to tell you in about two weeks."

Rumor tidbit from AICN:

Quote:
I’m not sure how it all ties in, but sure enough... as rumored (and I never really believed it until now), on a soundstage in Downey... they’ve evidently built a reproduction of the warehouse from the end of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, and they’re staging a sequence there even as you read this.
