Here's a question that I haven't seen brought up....

Will any of the Transformers, have Autobot or Decepticon insignias on their bodies? be it in Robot, OR transformed mode? I have seen none on the prototypes....

yes, go check out the first page pictures of the cop car. It has the decepticon symbol on the doors i believe.

Don't expect Jazz to look that cool in the final render. That's hand drawn, stylized art which is way better than anything they've come up with so far.

so does this mean we are getting double designs for each transformer? a before earth entry and after earth entry?? Don't really see the need for all of this but whatever. Rename it Gundam and we'll be happy.

apparently, it was a picture that was taken by a cellphone. That's why it looks blurry and with different contrasts... Still looks like shit though.

And Thundercracker, you must camp out at newsgroups all day because you're always first to post these things. lol

Heh, well as my handle suggests I'm an avid TF fan, I collect the toys and watch the shows so the TF sites are always one of the things I check.

The official site has put up the top ten winning quotes from the "Make Prime Speak" contest with voice clips from Peter Cullen.

Prime Speaks

4 of those quote's really should not been chosen for fan submissions since they're from the animated movie and series.

Early concept for Ratchet: (from TFW2005)

Image

Although I don't dislike the final Ratchet, this one is better. It's got much more of a G1 asthetic with blocky parts, non-claw hands and a head that doesn't resemble a bug. It's definetely got better colors, why they settled on puke green I'll never know. It's even got the "V" visor on his forehead like G1 Ratchet. Supposedly this design will be in the movie comic book as Inferno.

If there's an artbook for this movie it will be interesting to see all the discarded concepts that Bay passed up for the designs we're getting in the final film.

Then again, here's an early concept for Prime:

Cory Burton is supposedly going to voice Megatron in the new Transformers: Heroes cartoon, not the movie role. Frank Welker says he still hasn't been offered any role for the film yet unfortunantly.

One thing I've never been able to get is why couldn't they have gotten the looks of the Decepticons(sp?) right like with what they've done for the Auto Bots? I have no problems with Bumble Bee's looks and Optimus is almost dead on.

Hasbro Transformers Movie Event Info - 20 min worth of footage shown (TFW2005)

[hr]
• The first scene shown was Blackout attacking the military base. A much longer transformation scene is shown. The original transformation sound can be heard quite clearly. Teh entire crowd breaks into applause while this is happening. After transforming, Blackout proceeds to destroy the base using an EMP, to take out the electrical equipment and brute force. Crowd goes wild.

• Next is a scene with Sam trying to hit on Mikala. As her boyfriend and jocks tease Sam, Mikala gets mad and walks away. Sam offers her a ride in the 70's Camaro Bumblebee. Bumblebee has an air freshener that is a cartoony bumblebee (the insect) with the term B-otch. Bumblebee uses his radio to try and help Sam out, playing romantic music, etc. The car breaks down at a romantic spot, Mikala looks at the engine, which is very advanced. She gets fed up with the whole night and goes to leave. Bumblebee magically is fixed, starts up and plays music so she does not leave. Very comedic, crowd laughed a lot.

• Then they show a scene where Prime is driving with the Autobots tailing him. They pull up to Sam's house. Sam runs in to find something (glasses showing the location of the Allspark). Autobots hide in back yard, in robot mode. Tony said the animatics looked amazing, very animated and showing great emotion. As Sam tries to distract his Dad from going outside, Bumblebee tries to keep the Autobots quiet. Sam goes into his room, talks out the window to Optimus Prime. Cullen's voice is heard. Much deeper voice than he used on G1 Prime.

• Optimus Prime has a mouth in non-battle mode. Many people seemed thrown off, will take getting use to.

• Ratchet backs into power lines and shorts himself out. In the original script this was supposed to be Jazz. Autobots try to transform into vehicles and hide, but they are still in yard. Sector 7 guys show up and take Sam and Mikala away. Played more comical than serious. John Turturro leads the Sector 7 group. Some of these scenes had the Autobots as very early polygon renders.

• The lights go out, but before people can leave, they ask if they want one more scene. Crowd goes nuts. They show the scene where Scorponok is chasing the soldiers. Lots of crazy action. Soem comedy thrown in as well. Air strike comes in and throws everything they have at Scorpronok. He is not killed, but damaged and jumps intop sand and retreats.

From IESB.net

QUOTE: The Transformers Movie Narrowly Avoids an R-Rating

According to Shia LaBoeuf via IESB.net a cut of the film went to the MPAA and came back with a rated R attached, not because of sex or language, but because of intense action and violence. Shia goes on to say that Steven Spielberg went to them and argued his point resulting in it getting knocked down to PG-13.

Good thing Spielberg talked into some sense of MPAA to knock it down to a PG-13 rating. An R rating because of all the violence? I can see it getting an R rating if there were tons of swearing and some nudity..but just for an action movie? Come on now...

Hi, I'm Michael Bay and I've got a cock up my ass!

shootfortheedit.com

Almost a 100 days left. I guess I should start posting every week? I've been working my ass off - the cut is really coming along -the shots ---awesome. Some of the most difficult renders in ILM history. Sometimes up to 38 hours per frame. The Show West thing was fun to see the scenes play in a 1000 person house. But they just saw 25 minutes so it is hard to feel engaged because they are not seeing the full run of a movie. Harry called me to tell me how he loved it. I see all the dickwad talk back people who claim they have read a finished script. Impossible - I kept the only draft for the last two months before shooting. That's where did major retooling to the script - yes the scene beats are similar but a very different script. We are still writing the robot voices. They talk about just 20 minutes of action at the end - yeah right. This is by far the most action I have ever put into a movie - I have 12 huge set pieces. Boy I get tired of these lame cry babies on the net.

BAY

Fuck off. You've participated none in this thread. Could you really imagine Speilberg or Lucas saying something like that? It's classless. He should know that he'd get critisism, he's acting just like a talkbacker.

On to something important:
AICN

Keith David signed to play Barricade. Keith was most recently in Crash. He's the voice of Spawn too in the animated show.

I have participated, duely I lurk more than I post, but i choose my posts carefully.

I generally (in fact, I'm sure I almost never) bag a film before I've even seen it, or judge a directors skills by bashing him on a messageboard! It's just pointless. So what. E-Nerds bash his transformers designs constantly on messageboards especially when they first came out, but in reality they ALL look 100X better than the cheesy as shit fanmade versions!

Now you bag him, for responding to the incessant fan complaints? Pointless.

He's not the worlds greatest director, but he's gonna make a damn fine film, you'll be there on opening day...I'll be there seeing it for free! Heh. So really, your little "Michael Bay/Cock up the arse" comment proves him 100% correct.

Quit bashing shit just cause it's there to read/look at - if the movie turns out to be utter bollocks, then I'll eat my humble pie then...but UNTIL then, you've seen Bad Boys and half his films just as many times as anyone else has, so either way, Michael Bay is still winning ;)

A director, does not a good movie make. It needs ALL the elements, acting, visual effects, story. People forget this so often.

_____

In other news, those posters look absolutely fantastic...

I can't wait to see the main one-sheet.

the POINT, you ignorant shit sucker, is Bay is a classless director. He's insulting his fan base, the hardcore fans that want to see this film do the cartoon justice rather than make a quick buck by adding the Will Smiths and the lips on Optimus bull shit. Lucas caught HELL about Jar Jar and pod racing baby Vader but did you ever hear him bitch out the fan base? Make the damn movie that he wants to make, but have some backbone to take the flame wars when the stupid shit about his movie leaks. He's crying like a little bitch, just like you are.
