It is pretty obvious that none of you went to C3 or saw the video. While the audio sounds very tinny and corny in that audio clip, the scene plays out in a cool and fun way on screen. You have to SEE it, not just listen to it. But I also have no doubt that the people bitching about it now would find ways to bitch about anything and everything in this movie anyway. It looks great but the same punks crying about Jar Jar will whine about Grievous or Anakin or their mom's underwear stinking, while they wear it on their head.

I don't mind the fact that Grievous is going to be corny or a cartoonish villian, I think we all knew that coming in. I just don't like the way Wood does the voice. It seems too deep to me, almost TOO distorted. The Clone Wars voice fit the character better, IMO, even if the movie version is more cowardly.

I did like how he said "Crush Them" in the United Commercial, but it was a bit much here.

As a whole I still like Grievous' character, he just is, like many of you have pointed out, not entirely needed for the movie. I have a feeling he's going to a feel a bit out of place.

I had a really hard time understanding what was being said in that Grievous sound clip until about the middle. It seemed to clear up a bit at that point. I'll reserve judgement on how good/bad the voice is until I see it on the big screen.

Sorry, but Jar Jar's name and behavior suit the character. Giving the leader of the droid armies and a killer of Jedi a hopping, bird-like walk, a comic opera Dracula voice and the cutesy name "General Grievous" is something completely different.

Not to sound like I'm schlobbing Fatboy's knob or anything, but I too agree that Grievous is a bit suspect. I think he'll have some cool fights in the movie, but overall he seems inconsequential to me. Seems like they made such a big deal about the "new EU character" back when Episode 3 was filming, but he really just goes the way of the dodo like Maul.

Yes, Bob. I was being slightly sarcastic with my comments to you. I know that you are not a basher. But there are people on this board (who also seem to saturate other boards with their negativity) that eat this kind of shit up. So, no matter how much you or I might be "objectively" observing things about these movies, the bashers use it as their ammunition.

I am not trying to stiffle disagreement, just noting that so many people who complain about this stuff have not seen it in context. Even those of us who were at C3 didn't see it in complete context. However, it looked and sounded much better than that crappy clip. You have to see Grievous to buy his delivery. And if not then fine. I just get the feeling that people expect something from ROTS that will never be a reality, and this kind of sandy vagina whining is only begging for greater disappointment.

The movie looks great. Even the Trivial Pursuit scenes look great, corny dialogue and bad delivery and all.

The fact that I just started posting here doesn't mean that I don't know who Fatboy is or what he used to do for a living (or even what he does now), or how he feels about these movies. I just think that Fatboy took all my comments as if they were directed at him. They were not.

I think that in a perfect world that would be true, but these boards have been invaded by the TF.N mentality too (at least from the noobies). It is a product of popularity.

I don't disagree with much of anything you have said, though I did not quote it. It would be great if we could just argue the merits of our points and be done with it. Unfortunately, the Internet (and it would seem, the media at large) refuses to deal in arguments in that manner. So, sometimes we fight out battles dirty, to combat the dirt from our opponents.

So, ammunition in the sense that any negative perception is dealt out as fact even when shared by the minority. As you should remember from journalism 101, we write for an audience even when we do not know it. When it comes to Star Wars it just seems that many search for something shitty about it, even when it doesn't exist.

I don't disagree that out of context the audio clip sounds bad. I just think you should see it first. If you then hate it then that is cool too.

It is out of context if you have not seen it. Hopefully you will see the video soon. I think it just works better watching the characters and the shots.
