We all know about the brand new changes for the DVD (Han/Greedo scene, Emperor's face, new Anakin, etc). But does anybody know if these changes made "on top" of the 1997 SE changes, or were these the only changes and everything else is like the theatrical cut? What I mean is, are there still rontos and dewbacks and different cantina creatures in ANH, a CG wampa in ESB, a new jabba's palace sequence...you catch my drift. I suppose that hoping that the changes we have seen are the only changes is wishful thinking, but it would be hella cool.

There was never a CG Wampa in ESB. In any release.

It wasn't CG...yes, it was added, but it wasn't CG. Originally they were supposed to have more wampa footage, but the wampa costume was terrible (it looks even worse on the DVD in all its clarity). The SE version is an improved Wampa costume that was filmed for the SE.

These are the special editions with either revised special effects (new jabba), subtractions (Luke's yell) and new footage (the Emperor).
