I don't like the card I got with my new PC.

Right now I am looking at a X1950 256mb ATI Radeon or maybe the XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX edition 256 MB

This came with a ATI X1300 Pro 256mb but I want something that supports HDTV and can handle new games that are graphics intensive. I can't spend the 600+ I would like to, if I could then I know exactly what i would get. Any suggestions

I just got the Radeon 1650 512mb version. It's about $300 cheaper than the 1950 but still runs like a champ. Nvidia seems to be producing the hot stuff these days but they're a little more expensive. I've always had ATI cards if for no other reason than brand loyalty.

Of course, if you're going for max performance you'd want a dual SLI or Crossfire setup.

Do you game at all? Both the 1300 series and 1600 series are crossfire ready. I just don't know if I have an avilable slot to add another card, which unless I am wrong is what crossfire is about. Having 2 cards would be pretty bad ass..

I hear Crossfire is a bitch to set up on mid-range cards, especially depending on what power supply you have. For Nvidia I think the motherboard has to be SLI-ready too, but don't quote me on that.
