The Associated Press has a annual roast of the president. What usually makes the dinners / roasts interesting are the guests the press invites. This year's guests include Ludacris and CIA leaker Valerie Plame.

The featured speaker was Comedy Central's Stephen Colbert, who has a show called The Colbert Report which mock's FoxNew's O'Reilly Factor ("No Spin Zone"). Colbert did not flinch once from his ice cold straightman schtick, lobbing zing bomb after zing bomb at Bush, who was sitting right next to Colbert and the press corp audience sitting up front.

The video below doesn't feature a few opening lines about SUVs and the NS wiretapping. It does feature at the very end a lengthy Helen Thomas/White House spokesman sketch, which is sorta boring.

A lot of things struck me as odd about that video. I chuckled a bit but the crowd didn't seem too entertained by it. It reminded me a lot of detention hall, where if someone made a joke, you got extra time for laughing. I wonder if I should put Colbert on my rotten.com deadpool list right about now.......

Thanks for the vid!!

I caught this while randomly flipping through the channels and seeing him on C-SPAN. They rarely cut to Bush, but whenever they did he did not look amused. Good stuff.
