With the release of RotS right around the corner, I am getting more and more nervous of the Star Wars days coming to an end, so I was wondering what you guys thought...

As Lucas has pointed out several times, he is done with these movies come May 19th, except for any re-releases, 3d and such, but I am gonna really miss the spoilers and the constant conversations about how something may or may not be possible... So my question is, if someone else were to make Episode 7 8 9, would you want them to? If it wasnt Lucas, would it be canon?

Its just, I want him to continue a story, but theres not a story to continue, I just dont want this crazy ride to end... Push comes to shove, I wouldnt want any more movies made by anyone other than him... so I guess this is it... What do you all think?

fortunately or unfortunately, the story immediately following the movies has been extremely well documented. having something be canon or not is one thing. luckily by preventing anyone from touchign the movie timelien and main characters (much), Lucas has made it so that canon does not conflict too harshly with the EU.

Hence, a serious Star Wars collector can in some way enjoy Dark Empire parts I and II, for example. If there was any attempt to make a story out of what woudl be considered episode 7, 8 and 9.. then those EU graphic novels and novels would be in DIRECT contradiction.. not in some loose way like between Labyrinth of Evil and teh Clone Wars cartoon.

To be honest, I tend to think that Lucas is more of a "happily ever after" kind of guy anyways.

I am just curious, what does Lucas say is the story that follows the movies?

Lucas has always offered a blunt "no comment" when asked about the novels following the movies. He's not gonna touch episodes 7 - 9.

thats teh thing.. i dont much care whether he does more movies.. i dont mind the boosk and such.. i just wish he would go through them and say "yeah i put my stamp on this" or say "nahhhhh were gonna have a rewrite"

i mean.. i dont liek teh relatively hands off approach he has to EU stuff.. just a tad tighter control would be nice.. like waschowskis and matrix.. they dont have to write every line of dialogue and whatever.. but tehy make sure teh "EU" of matrix has continuity somewhat...

i want to be able to settle my imagination into a certain world... right now my mind wont relax into teh EU the way it does into the movies.. i dont call them "home" like i did when i first read them..

because i have been scarred.. Lucas deciding what is and isnt real has made my cherished moments with the novels and with the graphic novels seem tarnished somehow..

i wish he would just sit and read them in the privacy of his own hoem and say "HOGWASH!!" or "LOVED IT!" or anything in between.. basically i'm not all emotional abotu a whole lot of things.. luckily the movies cleared up the fake EU stuff from BEFORE Ep I.. (the clone jedi and everything that was before is now wiped away .. in an alternate universe because of teh movie)..

i just want to know ONE thing... did the emperor DIE at teh end of episode VI? Ok.. YES or NO a simple ansswer.. lucas can at least just answer that ONE question is all.. then i can say the rest of teh EU after the movies is fake or it isnt..

and the next time somebody does some EU TV shows or something.. he shoudl bloody well give a damn.. im sick of him thinkign these movies are just popcorn entertainment..

he shoudl understand that he put a hell of a lot more energy and willpower and spiritual discipline into making them that grereedy priests and bards put into making most religions..

the bible had like 30 writers and tehy stole from all sorts fo places.. reditied all to hell..

these movies have been mostly one or two here and there (like 10 writers total i woudl guess).. these ARE our modern mythology.,. they mean more to most than a lot of things..

i dunno.. he needs to get over it and realise that to modern kids and people these are sacred.. not because tehy are fans.. but because its not like anyoen else is creating new religions or philosophies or mythology.. unless you count scientology..

emperor die yes or no.. taht what i want to know.. if no.. pay attention next time somebody does one of your stories in a major way.. just PAY ATTENTION and think "is this totally wrong?" even star trek "writers by committee" have better continutity and roddenberry isnt even alive!

hes the onyl great i knwo of (tolkien, henson, herbert, lovecraft) who really seems to honestly not want to protect and care abotu and nruture his characters.. he only protects the movies.. (does a fine job of it though)

Hey buddy, relax... if you read my first post, you'll see that I know there isnt going to be 7 8 and 9, but my question was whether or not you'd want to see any more movies made by anyone else... I did watch the 60 minutes interview, and thats when it really sunk in that this is it for the fans...

people dont need to stop bringing this up, its okay to ask yourself what more you could have wanted from this galaxy so far far away... and yeah, SS sucks. and his girlfriends arent hot, let alone actually his girlfriend anyways...

I hope it's baased on the NJO/Yuuzhan Vong series.
