Im busy learning Object-Oriented PHP and finding it pretty overwhelming. I've read
Kevin Yank's Build Your Own Database-Driven Website and got to grips with that pretty easy. I'm now reading
Harry Feucks' PHP Anthology Volumes I & II and struggling.
The jump from Procedural Code to Object-Oriented code seems pretty big.
Just wondering if there are any other web developers who had similar problems to me and could give me some advice, hint/tips etc.
I know quite a few people who are having to make the jump from older procedural languages like RPG & COBOL to something OO like Java... you're right, it's a big jump. In fact, a couple of the guys I know are almost to retirement age & they're thinking about retiring as opposed to having to make such a drastic change at this point in the game... anyways...
I do quite a bit of PHP & SQL programming, so if you have any specific questions maybe I can help.
