The fucking hurricane hit us :/
What really hit us was that our power went out Sunday and didn't come back on till today - Wednesday. The power situation has everyone around here, well psychotic because we live in a upper income area (St Johns County) it makes peeps angry that "lesser areas" got their power restored before we did.
There are huge trees in Florida that have moss hanging down from them - they are Evil Ents to me and must now be destroyed. Trees are responsible for most of damage around these parts. Homes, Cars, and powerlines were all crushed by these monsters. There is a tree in our backyard that wasn't there before. Also across the street - there is a wreckage of a boat that washed ashore like some deep ocean behemoth's carcass.
We passed the day watching gusts of wind, up to 80mph break down trees and by watching the huge amounts of rain fall that came with it, "sideway rain". At night I had to endure public television and some things never change - infomercials, reality television, and daytime talkshows - rebroadcast at night.
Speaking of talkshows - the late night talkshows haven't changed either - Lettermen and Kilborn maybe second in ratings but they both are vastly superior over the top rated Leno/O'Brian.
One good thing that came out of this is my watching fucking awesome movie on PBS about black culture in the early 1970's called "WattStax" - It was like the Black Woodstock. I mean it had Ted "Love Boat" Lange utter "nigger" after every other word.
