They locked me up for a few hours, then let me go because I "didn't look Muslim enough."

It's really too bad, to put it mildly, that the public at large has totally forgotten or stopped giving a shit about this story. I feel bad for brazillian dude, and his family, but the world is jam fucking packed with tragedy these days. These are the Dark Ages Revisited, with better technology and better PR.

For every mourner of each new tragedy, there seems to be at least one person thinking they got what they desreved. I've seen and heard plenty of average folks say if this guy was stupid enough to run from the cops, knowing what the situation is like, he deserved it. I don't agree, but thats where a lot of people just drop it and move on.

This guys family should apologize on his behalf for wasting everyones time. If the cops want to talk to you, dont run off. A guy can/will get shot for doing that.

Yeah, that stupid son of a bitch should have just killed himself instead of tried to get to work. Look at all the trouble he caused, the idiot, trying to hurry and catch his train. What a fucknut.

Maybe, but even if he did, they (non-uniformed policemen) aren't identifiable from a distance as cops, and a lot of people in a hurry might not stop. If I'm in a crowd, I doubt I would, just to make sure they were talking to me. Build a checkpoint, I'll let you interupt my slavish commute.

Basically, no one except those who were there really know what happenned. I think asking his family to appoligize for his being tragically killed is ridiculous.

Yeah it is ridiculous but regardless of that he was pretty stupid for not stopping, especially right after everything that had just happened.

If that is indeed how it really played out, I agree. The fact of the matter is that even the 'official' version of events have stated that he was innocent, and this was all an accident. Innocent people rarely think people shouting 'stop' are talking to them. I wonder, did all the other people on the platform freeze in place and whip out thier Id's?? Should they be expected to in a 'free' society?

cops no friend of mine. i need him, he's not there. i'm having a good time, he's a buzz kill.

i got that apology idea from the Japanese civilians who were almost head cut in Iraq. they came home and apologized for being a distraction. I was not asking the Brazilian's family too, but it would be nice if they stepped up and said for him what he himself is no longer able to say.

no big, move on.

Okay, I suppose. I don't really understand what you mean there, though.

I have moved on, I suppose I'm just venting. Sorry for the  attitude.

I don't want to throw fuel on the fire here, but people shouldn't forget just yet, information is still leaking out about what exactly happened on that platform.

Death in Stockwell: the unanswered questions

Quote:
He wasn't wearing a heavy jacket. He used his card to get into the station. He didn't vault the barrier. And now police say there are no CCTV pictures to reveal the truth. So why did plainclothes officers shoot young Jean Charles de Menezes seven times in the head, thinking he posed a terror threat? Special report by Tony Thompson, and Tom Phillips in Brazil.

There are no fucking CCTV fucking pictures to reveal the fucking truth? That's fucking bullshit..
