I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but I am totally annoyed by what has become of what was once The Weather Channel.
They seem to have forgotten their original vision.

It's all "Storm Stories" and programs that seem to be more about the "personalities" hosting the weather programming than the weather itself. Not to be a grumpy old fart, but just tell me what the fucking weather is supposed to do!

It's easier and faster to turn on my computer and go online to find the local forecast than to wait for the now unreliable "Local on the 8's."

Next they'll be showing feature length movies like Twister and The Day After Tomorrow with all-new "weather expert" commentary.

yeah, NOAA is a lot easier to deal with, no annoying personalities alerting us about the next disaster that will wipe out trail parks everywhere. i suppose it's better than listening to shortwave radio weather, but not by much.

I don't even watch the Weather Channel anymore but I remember being annoyed several years ago when they changed the layout of the local forecast (now referred to as "Local On The 8's" I believe) and ditched the iconic jazzy music. That guy Dave Schwartz was still on occasionally though and he's fucking hilarious for a weather man.

I too used to watch The Weather Channel but don't any more. Hell they don't even show a local forecast for Salt Lake City, as ET pointed out it's "Local On The 8's". WTF? I don't give a shit about other cities' forecast, I just care about the one I live in.

I waiting for TWC to come up with Original, Reality based shows.

It would have to include trailer parks, loud and angry neighbors, random gun violence, and a tornado.

I used to have it on in the mornings just so I could see the time/temp and to check the radar on days when it might matter. Since I switched from cable to satellite I no longer get to see anything local and I don't even know what channel # it is anymore. Without real-time info I can use, it's a waste of a nice little broadcasting frequency. I usually just go straight to the NOAA satellite page. Weathermen are a bunch of fucking paid guessers anyway. If you get paid to just "speculate" about anything, you are a lucky fuck. I want your job.

We could have a Law and Order: Katrina, if each show was one of the lawsuits against FEMA, it could go for the next 10 years.
