Bush is about to get a Bill next week which would require our pullout of Iraq starting as soon as July. I think it's time we left over there. What more could we do? Saddam is dead along with most his generals and cabinet. His sons are dead. No WMD's have been found. Why keep our troops there any longer??

As wrong as we may have been for going in the first place. IMO we are in it too much now to pull back. If we leave now, Iraq and possibly the world will be worse off than when we came in. We are making progress (even though the majority of media seems to want us to think otherwise) and to pull out now would not be good. Even putting a time table on this is bad imo, because then it gives the enemy knowledge that at "this" date the infidels will leave our country and we will have won! We do need to get out of there, but the job needs to be done first of stabilizing Iraq so that it can defend itself and the freedoms of it's people. How do we do that? I haven't the slightest.

Time to get out, I think. We've done our best, and although I don't believe it was Bush or even Cheney as much as the cuntrags Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld who deserve the blame, this war will ultimately be seen as a war that could not be won, simply because no army can stabilize a Middle Eastern country with so much history of violence and division without flattening it.

Now, I really do like President Bush and still support him immensely, I believe he has horrible advisers but has accomplished a great deal, particularly with the economy. However, I support Barack Obama for President as of right now, I believe he'll be a very solid leader and can effectively get us out of there.

I honestly think we have no reasonable choice but to stay. Sure things don't seem to be going our way, but remember it took almost a decade to pacify and reform Germany - and we had leveled that place. We've committed ourselves this far and should see it through to the end. What qualifies as "end", I can't answer. But abandoning Iraq now would be the most damaging thing to do I think.

If it was personally up to me, in a world without consequences, we would just steal their oil and dump our garbage there.

I vote leave now. If you really think we can continue to sustain this without a draft, particularly if they go into Iran (starting WWIII), you must not be doing the math. And a draft would destroy not only our economy, but our entire country. I predict it could be enough to effectively 'Mad Max' the planet. At the very least a draft would leave our main-land open to invasion. Immigration is a hot topic these days, but what if it wasn't average Mexicans spotted by the border patrol, but an armored Chinese tank battalion? And once the nukes start flying were all dead. It is that close, folks. And the rich guys have bunkers.

p.s - If we ever get invaded by China or Russia, any decent American is going to become whatever the term for 'insurgent' is in Chinese or Russian.

Besides, what have the Iraqi people really done to us to deserve this? Are we punishing them now for not greeting US troops with flowers and candy the way Cheney and Rumsfeld and every other member of the PNAC and Chalabi's INC promised us they would? Is it thier fault we broke the entirety of the countries infrastructure defeating their joke of a military back in 2003? What is the point, really? It's not like the US is holding the place together. Were just sitting in the middle of someone elses firefight now, setting up roadblocks and making good targets of our troops. It'll be decades before they are a threat again anyway. We need to regroup before a real enemy comes along.

Or I guess we could just dump our garbage upon the archeological remains of the oldest civilization on Earth. Full circle eh'? We have returned to the cradle of civilation to usher in it's demise. Fucking poetic.
