Legolas is gonna go ape-shit.

I am not saying acting is easy work, yet it's not especially hard and you're being paid MILLIONS for a role (especially an Orlando or Hayden). He says he's not interested in it? I think with the movie biz, you get out of it what you put into it, or what roles you pick.

Deal with it, Hayden.

At least we won't get him playing Merriman in the future Dark Is Rising movies *shudder*

He's pretty much been critic-bashed out of Hollwood (even though the chicks seem to dig the guy). I wonder whether he'll design wooden houses. Stay in character  In all fairness, he wasn't bad in ROTS....

He's just living the American dream make enough money so you don't need to work seriously any more, then go do what you like and with all the money that ROTS is making, I'm sure his pockets are over flowing.

Don't get me wrong, I like him as an actor (maybe AOTC was his weakest film, but he's done some other pretty good stuff, including ROTS), but hell, if he wants to quit, and go do stuff outside the spotlight, more power to him! (and not the dark kind of power.)

kinda reminds me of Mark Hamill. He's doing what he likes now and I seriously doubt he has to worry about money either.

I don't know what you're smoking but he's very convincing in ROTS.

But he might be smart to quit now or else become the next Mark Hamill....

What, Mark Hamill sucks too?

Mark Hamill went on to even bigger fame after Star Wars doing the voice of the Joker in the Batman cartoons.

Hayden IS Anakin. Think about it we could have ended up with Ryan Phillippe

Nah Lucas would never picked the recognizable actor for Anakin.

Natalie did a "I'm going to quit acting" thing after AOTC. It's all bullshit. Hayden did a great job as Anakin on the whole, and he was really good in Life as a House, so I'd be surprised to see him hang it up that quick. Critics only jumped on him b/c its Star Wars, and b/c Lucas' dialogue is admittedly sometimes cheesy.

he sucked anyways but then almost all the acting in the first 2 prequels sucked.

so its probably not be his fault and i haven't seen the third one yet so if he has redeemed himself I don't know.

I think Hayden did the best he could with what he was given. While he is a great creative visionary, Lucas is not exactly a great director, he is admittedly the "King of Wooden Dialogue," and more than any previous movie, the actors had to play pretend with green/blue screens.

I wonder if the increased usage of CGI will result in acting schools offering classes on how to effectively act and react in that kind of setting.

Regarding Hayden's bitter griping about not acting anymore, even if it is true, one less Hollywood actor is never a bad thing.

Stage actors and sitcom actors are always being called upon to act as though they're in a closed room. It's called "using your imagination."

People are just going to have to accept that stiff, poorly-directed acting is a hallmark of George Lucas movies, and stop trying to make excuses that "explain" how it's really better than it appears to be.

anyone who says Hayden sucks as an actor has not seen him in Shattered Glass. Watch that film and see a completely different person. The man can act.
