The Whills are mentioned in the Revenge Of The Sith comic.

So "Shaman" is the first one, but what is the second? This stuff sounds like stuff that might be edited out of the film. Exposition that isn't quite necessary to move things forward, but good for the sheep. Half the people out there have no idea what a Sith is, they'll be spinning heads if they hear about a Whill.

originally they were chronicallers of the Force...who knows...maybe they serve in some sort of function like that....

Or they're just some hippie tribe on some planet that got it right...either way works.

From some of the very early spoilers (which could now not be true) there is supposedly a copy of the Journal of the Whills that Yoda gets his hands on, which could be the other one.

thats pretty interesting stuff, where did you hear about yoda's species being whill.. it may have just been someone making it up cause they heard the term whill

Yoda is not a Whill. This was confimed in the November or December SW Insider. In the same article it also says that the Whills never had an identity or explanation for who or what they are. I am obviously paraphrasing but I'll find the article and post it when I get home from work.

the article basically has GL saying the journal of the whills is this saga, if I remember now he is saying it is kinda the name of the journal he kept to create the saga. But i believe he has said otherwise in the past.

Well, after reading the screenplay, the second one was "Ancient Order Of".
