Downloaded this a while ago but only just got round to seeing it today - and I found it was a slight improvement on the proper film. I know theres the old saying that you cant polish a turd but what do you think of it? |

I think all these non-Lucas edits are just sheep garbage. |

sheep didn't really want a prequel trilogy, they wanted three more ESB's. ![]() Of course, the arrogance that goes into re-editing someone else's film burns me up to no end, don't even get me started on charging money for it. |

I never fully understood the feeling of ownership that some people have with these movies. I mean, sure we grew up with the OT and had certain expectations of the PT before they came out.. maybe they met those expectations, maybe not.. yet, I cannot grasp why someone would even go so far as -- not just to get on the internet and talk a bunch of trash about them -- but to re-edit the damn things and change the story up. It doesn't belong to you! If you don't like it, don't watch it! I am cornfused. Blowpops changed their strawberry flavoring, but you don't see me melting down suckers and cursing Tootsie Roll Industries for raping my childhood. |

I find it amusing that so many of the "true fans" who can't tolerate any changes to the original films are the same people who are constantly singing the praises of the Phanboy Edits. Not that you seem to be doing so. There was a special "surprise" download this past weekend that made me think of this, and your post reminded me again. |

Yeah, that "surprise" pissed me off. Four wasted days downloading the fucking thing to find out it's a damn edit. It made me say "fuck my ratio" |

I've been torn over TPM ever since 99. I saw it half a dozen times in the theater, and each time my viewing experience would shift from 'Fuck, this movie sucks' to 'Hey, it isn't so bad after all. The media is full of it.' And years later, to this day, I'm still not set on hating or loving it. I watched it all the way through, using my own Phantom editor (the remote) and fast forwarding anything involving Jake Lloyd and words. I haven't seen the Edit, but I can't see what all the fuss was about when it hit. And to have the brass balls to charge for it? Nah. Don't think so. The remote controle is the ultimate editor for ANY movie. I just want to see those lost scenes of Darth Maul put back in. Call me sheep crazy, but I do. |

Saw it, thought it was a sad, sad waste of someone's time. Magnoliafan seems to have no clue what makes the saga work, nor when a shot needs to be trimmed or left alone. Worse than just watching TPM. His "Clone War" was somehow worse than his TPM edit. What's mystifying to me is the massive, blind devotion the truly...special...in the head...fans have to him, and his "work". I guess the only saving grace was seeing the setup for Qui-Gon and Anakin running across the dessert be reincorperated into the film. Oh, and maybe the deletion of the poo-poo joke at the pod race. |

That's because fuckfaces will like the work of a fellow fuckface. The editing of AOTC was weak in places and I have said my fair share of bad things about Ben Burtt, but I'm not planning on sitting in front of a computer for months and seeing if I can do better. Dude is a total clown. These are GL's works, accept them or get a life. ROTS really couldn't be edited any better. That's what shined brightest for me really, was GL's editing abilities, not just in terms of pacing and story, which kicked total ass, but in his ability to use edits to create emphasis and power. Especially certain crosscuts (Yoda-Obi in temple + Anakin slaughtering + Palpy created empire or Birth of Vader + death of Padme) were pretty special. |

I have yet to see the original Phantom Edit. I expect it's loads better than TPM. I wish I had it on DVD. Anyone know where I can download it without using torrent, or buy it? |

You stop it then? What about when he's trapped underwater staring at the statue. That's the ideal spot to hit stop. |

Even better would be not watching any of A.I. at all. |

Yes, it is better to never watch A.I. seeing as IT DOES NOT END!!!!1! (Actually, it ends three times, and then does not end) |
