I also heard they were going to drop the AOTC Yoda into the sole CGI Yoda shot in TPM. Anyone nkow anything about this?

There's a thread below this one dedicated to that exact topic.

Why the fuck would they add Dooku into TPM unless he were totally silent and sitting in a Council seat during the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan/Anakin scenes?

I don't care if he was at the funeral. He should have been in the Council scene and replaced Obi-Wan when him and Qui-Gon are talking on the Jedi Council balcony at sunset...

A villain of that magnitude would detract from Vader later in the saga. Besides, I couldn't picture Darth Maul helping to run the galaxy after the rise of the Empire. Likewise, Dooku seemed (at least in AOTC) to be too ambitious to stay on Palpatine's leash; sooner or later, Palpatine would've had to deal with him. I'd say everything is working out well so far.

As for Dooku being in TPM, the only place you could really work him in is the funeral scene. I wouldn't be against the idea, but I don't see where it's really necessary either.

Hmmm...that'd keep in line with the obsession Lucas has to going back and inserting little bits into his movies for continuity and/or "improvement".

With all of the actors being around for this third movie...nothing is out of the picture...

I hear that.

Dooku sucks balls and I can't wait to see Anakin own him. If he was to be in TPM wich it's not true Darth Maul would show him the true meaning of Sith.

You're right. It's not like Darth Maul got bisected by a Padawan Learner or anything. And it's also not like Dooku kicked the hell out of that same Jedi with ten years of Knighthood behind him or anything. :whateva:

It's not like either of those things were convenient plot devices or anything...

No Shit??!!! Didn't they make a big deal about Oz and yoda in that scene in one of the documentaries on TPM DVD?

The shot toward the end with Obi and Yoda, with Yoda shot from above, hobbling on his cane?

Sorry, but that's actually Warwick Davis (Wicket and Willow) in a costume. [if you don't believe me, I think Warwick's personal website confirms this][/quote]

Actually, if we're thinking of the same thing, that TPM overhead shot of Yoda walking with Obi-Wan next to him was in fact a cgi Yoda.

Or those scenes got cut and replaced with the CGi additions.

Just becauese he may have filmed a few walking Yoda scenes doesn't mean they kept them.

I'm pretty sure at the Star Wars Celebration in Denver, during his Q&A, he used the word "stand in."

Just watched the walking bit again, and it is very hard to tell, but it doesn't look like a CGI Yoda. Though the puppets ears and arms look seperated and CG created. I personally think it was a touched up with CGI.
Plus, I don't think the guys arms could be as skinny as Yoda's, not unless he has a serious eating disorder.

Well that Yoda only took like three or four steps before there was a cut to a new angle. The steps looked a bit awkward, as if the crew couldn't totally figure out how to extrapolate Yoda's shoulder movements down his waist to his legs.

The documentary " From Puppets to Pixels" on the AOTC bonus disc confirms the scene with Yoda walking before Obi-Wan was their first attempt at digital Yoda.

No mention is made of the crowd shot at the end of TPM. I believe Fatboy's right.
